Back to Freelancing?

I did a lot of my fun goals recently, and now I think it's time to focus on my professional goals.

Ultimately, I want to be able to run my own business one day and make it successful. I still have lots to learn, but at the same time, I also have some days of the week where I'm not really doing much but gaming or watching YouTube.... so yeah, I haven't been really productive for almost an entire year. I like my full-time job, but at the same time I want something new, and I think the answer to that is to start freelancing on the side again.

I did meet with a client about a month ago, but things didn't really work out. I'm trying to brainstorm ideas of where I can advertise my services. I've tried Fiverr (but it's kind of bias, as only the popular ones are seen first), Upwork (it's tough to get local work and video work isn't really doable over the internet) and postings on kijiji... I learned that if I want to get work that I want, then I'll have to start contacting businesses directly. I want to do corporate work, but I know that with corporate work, I might have to meet during work hours, so that might not be doable at the moment. But I could contact smaller businesses that operate outside of normal corporate hours, etc.. The thing is, a lot of people don't want just video editing, they need videography as well. That's not my strong point and I don't have the patience to do it... I also don't have the right equipment. :( But I also have other skills as well, like graphic design, blogging, and social media.

I think I'll start off with blogging and video, and then see where we go from there. I'll also work on some YouTube video ideas. It would be so cool if YouTube could be a full-time job!

I watched a video on ASAP science today about lazy people and how they say they'll do things tomorrow, but actually, if you think about your future self, they will always be lazier than you were the previous day... so it's best to just do things right away because you'll be lazy less. What a great lesson, it's so true and I just have to do things NOW. Need to stop pushing it off. And why have I been pushing these things off so much?? Well, I am pretty tired after work most of the time (I try to socialize after work but it actually drains me :(), or I have to edit for volunteering and so I get tired after that, then when I moved to my new place it took a while for me to adjust and make everything all homey. Now I'm settled in, So technically I should be doing stuff...

I did film a Forever 21 haul a while back, but I actually did that during my day off! So I would just need to take lots of days off to do stuff, right? Ideal, but not so practical.... I'm mostly tired because I have to wake up early (gah I miss those 9:00am start days!!) but I also go to bed pretty late now.

As I write this post, I'm yawning and feel like I am ready for a nap. It's tough to do work when you're tired. I didn't even have a coffee today. I know I need to do some work right now but ugh I am so exhausted. I'll fix this!
