This post is so late! I didn't really have a busy weekend, so not sure why I'm just posting it now.
Had Lunar New Year dinner on Friday, went shopping and to the arcade on Saturday and got some pink/white clothes, face masks from The Face Shop and a free foot mask! We tried to go to Alforno Cafe on Friday too but they were closed after 9pm... so we got some white wine instead. On Sunday we hung out with friends and played some boardgames, Sheriff and Evolution and then did some filming. I also filmed my night time skincare routine on Saturday evening and plan on editing that and uploading it on Wednesday this week. :) Still need to think of a blog post though for this week! Perhaps I'll make a lookbook post?
Time to chill out for a bit and then head to bed.

Relaxing Weekend
It was a pretty busy week at work this week as we were short-staffed. I was so ready for the weekend!
On Friday night we ate dinner, went grocery shopping, got some more DAVIDSTEA and worked out. Yesterday we watched The OA, and I went to OEB with my friend David and then went for bubbletea and fried chicken at Tea Funny with my boyfriend. We didn't eat dinner afterwards since we felt a bit sick from the night before.
Today we watched The Founder, a movie about the founder of McDonalds's. It was quite interesting! We then went grocery shopping again and then had beans on toast with side salad for dinner after. I just finished a blog post on my blog and now we're just chilling out for the rest of the evening.
I plan to be more productive this week after work. Last week I was productive for the first part of the week but I got tired and took a lot of naps. I wasn't very productive until this weekend, so I'm going to make up for that. I actually have a video to finish editing/recording a voiceover for, so I hope to upload that tomorrow or on Tuesday.
One of my colleagues actually left the company last week because they were doing so well with their own blog and was able to go full-time on it. Totally living the dream. I hope that my other blog can grow into that someday. I like being creative and I like sharing things with people, so I'm going to aim to do that!
Anyway, time for some tea and chillaxing. :D Oh I also meal prepped a lot today. Salads for daaaays.

Writing Before Bed is Therapeutic
It really is!
I didn't do too much during the week, but the weekend was full of socializing and went by pretty quickly! Probably because I had so many things to do.
During the week, I just worked, finished uploading my video, and just lounged around, watched HERO, Dirk Gentley, Keijo and YouTube. I didn't do any reading, which I should have, but I also was pretty exhausted from that time of month so I mostly napped throughout the week.
On Friday I got haircut from my stylist who I used to go to when she was in hair school, and Friday was the first time I got my hair done by her at her new job/studio. I think she did a great job, I just need to figure out how to style my hair the way I want it. My hair is pretty short now. I decided to chop it off as it got knots too easily from the buttons on my winter coat, and it just looked meh to me. After my haircut, we went to Galaxy Karaoke and sang until 11, then headed to Quickly for some bubbletea and chicken. I was so full from lunch/dinner (I had noodles and salad) and only had half a bubbletea...
On Saturday, we went to Costco and Safeway to grab grocceries, and just chilled out. We then helped at a fundraiser event. I was manning the cash float and it was so much pressure lol... but glad it's all done. I was pretty exhausted afterwards and had a bubble bath.
Today we just stayed at home, cleaned, finished watching Dirk Gently and then had some friends over to play Dixit and Thieves Market. Pretty interesting games and pretty easy, just how Iike it. Thieves Market was a little confusing though because we didn't know when the split loot phase would end, but we eventually figured it out after YouTubing a game tutorial. Then we worked out for a few minutes and now I'm writing this and watching my bf game.
We're having tea as well (it's a nightly tradition!) and so I think after I finish my tea, I'm going to head to bed.
My plans for this week are to edit, film a video, edit some more, make a calendar for my desk, clean the house and hopefully write a blog post. I'll also search for some freelance work too, and play some Overwatch. I should read again as well... Not sure what we'll do this weekend, maybe I'll have a girls night on Saturday or something. :)

The Weekend
It's already Sunday and it didn't feel like a super fast weekend, I guess it was because I mostly spent alot of time by myself, and got quite a few things done!
Yesterday I headed out early in the morning around 10:45am to Shiki Menya. Usually when I go, there's a waitlist, so I was expecting that, but before opening, people were just lining up. I lined up in what seemed like the shortest line (I still couldn't believe there WAS a line up during the cold... but hey I expected a waitlist!). I was pretty sure me and my friend would make it into the first round, but we didn't :( Although we got in 28 minutes later, which wasn't that bad of a wait. We both got the tonkotsu black ramen and it was my friend's first time there, and we both thought it was pretty good. We chatted a bit to catch up and ask each other plans for the year, etc., then we both headed home.
I chilled at home for a bit but then I really wanted to take a bubble bath. We didn't have any bubble bath at home, so I was thinking of going to the Rocky Mountain Soap Co. store downtown... but as soon as I stepped out, I was like, hmm, maybe I should just go to the drugstore in my neighborhood instead. 12 minutes later, I got there and they didn't have the specific scent of bubble bath I wanted, but I got a Lavender one by the same brand and it was cheaper too. I then went exploring a bit and returned home to watch more YouTube (after struggling to watch Crunchyroll on the PS4... it's down right now :() and took a bubble bath, it was so nice and relaxing.
I pretty much called it a night afterwards.
Today I hung out with my other friend and we went to Blue Star Diner for some brunch. I got the stuffed savory french toast (which was amazing) and my friend got the pork hash, which also looked really good! We caught up and chatted for a few hours and went back to my place and chatted some more. It was so nice seeing friends this weekend and part of my resolutions is to chill more with my friends!
I was going to have some friends over afterwards but then they weren't able to come... oh well. So I ended up eating leftover soup for dinner and finished up my new main channel end screen. I should really export my haul video and upload it to YouTube, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something...
I'm happy to say I did a lot of things this weekend, editing my video, making a blog post, chilling with friends... and I plan on figuring out a schedule for my month for these endeavours. :) I think I'm going to head to bed a bit earlier tonight, was going to work out but now I'm really exhausted. I'm going to finish up my to-do list and start editing my other stuff and then try to watch a drama before bed.
It's supposed to snow a lot tomorrow!! I'm thinking of getting new winter boots as I've got a hole in my current ones. If I roam during lunch tomorrow, I'll try to grab some at Payless, right now they have a sale on winter boots, so it's really great timing!

Edited and did a blog update
I had a productive-ish day today and it's Friday!! Well I guess it's technically Saturday now, and I should be asleep.
After I got home from work I did a bit of relaxing by watching YouTube videos (I really miss vlogmas now because I don't have a lot of videos to watch anymore!) and then I took a two hour nap. I also ate dinner and made some easy banana, granola, almond butter & honey dessert. I'm surprised that I wasn't really tempted to snack after, as I was quite full!
I went to work out about 20 minutes after waking up from my nap, and I felt revitalized again. I then got back from the gym and did some laundry, dishes and just looked at job listings, responded to an Upwork prospect and updated my blog.
I also edited some of my F21 haul video for my YouTube channel! Ahh, it's great to have productive days. :) Tomorrow I'll be seeing some friends and catching up. I also have to finish editing my video and I need to make a new end screen.
It's going to be cold tomorrow and all week. Freezing :( I need to wake up early as well to get a spot in line at Shiki Menya. Such a good ramen place!
I might get a haircut too, but we'll see... I may just cut it myself. Got to keep costs low.

Back to Freelancing?
I did a lot of my fun goals recently, and now I think it's time to focus on my professional goals.
Ultimately, I want to be able to run my own business one day and make it successful. I still have lots to learn, but at the same time, I also have some days of the week where I'm not really doing much but gaming or watching YouTube.... so yeah, I haven't been really productive for almost an entire year. I like my full-time job, but at the same time I want something new, and I think the answer to that is to start freelancing on the side again.
I did meet with a client about a month ago, but things didn't really work out. I'm trying to brainstorm ideas of where I can advertise my services. I've tried Fiverr (but it's kind of bias, as only the popular ones are seen first), Upwork (it's tough to get local work and video work isn't really doable over the internet) and postings on kijiji... I learned that if I want to get work that I want, then I'll have to start contacting businesses directly. I want to do corporate work, but I know that with corporate work, I might have to meet during work hours, so that might not be doable at the moment. But I could contact smaller businesses that operate outside of normal corporate hours, etc.. The thing is, a lot of people don't want just video editing, they need videography as well. That's not my strong point and I don't have the patience to do it... I also don't have the right equipment. :( But I also have other skills as well, like graphic design, blogging, and social media.
I think I'll start off with blogging and video, and then see where we go from there. I'll also work on some YouTube video ideas. It would be so cool if YouTube could be a full-time job!
I watched a video on ASAP science today about lazy people and how they say they'll do things tomorrow, but actually, if you think about your future self, they will always be lazier than you were the previous day... so it's best to just do things right away because you'll be lazy less. What a great lesson, it's so true and I just have to do things NOW. Need to stop pushing it off. And why have I been pushing these things off so much?? Well, I am pretty tired after work most of the time (I try to socialize after work but it actually drains me :(), or I have to edit for volunteering and so I get tired after that, then when I moved to my new place it took a while for me to adjust and make everything all homey. Now I'm settled in, So technically I should be doing stuff...
I did film a Forever 21 haul a while back, but I actually did that during my day off! So I would just need to take lots of days off to do stuff, right? Ideal, but not so practical.... I'm mostly tired because I have to wake up early (gah I miss those 9:00am start days!!) but I also go to bed pretty late now.
As I write this post, I'm yawning and feel like I am ready for a nap. It's tough to do work when you're tired. I didn't even have a coffee today. I know I need to do some work right now but ugh I am so exhausted. I'll fix this!

New Year!
It's 2017!
Let's recap what I've done so far this year including New Year's Eve.
On NYE, we went to National on 17th and had dinner with some friends and their new friends. Then we invited everyone over and played Jackbox, watched Fireworks and did a toast to 2017. That was the first time in a loooong time that I spent NYE with friends, and it was really nice. I really like meeting new people too.
On January 1st, we just stayed in all day, watched dramas, played Energy Empire, made chicken with refried bean tacos and homemade guacamole (delicious!!) and had nut roast for dinner. Yesterday, I went out with a friend for some pho, got bubble tea, went shopping for groceries and ate at my parents' house for dinner.
Today, I went back to work after the holidays. After work, I made vegan pesto on gluten-free macaroni + roasted potatoes with thyme. Oh man, it was really good!! This cooking thing is pretty fun and I want to make more fun dishes this year.
At the end of each year, I usually post a note to Facebook that recaps one thing/a few things I did during each month + my resolutions, etc... however, 2016 was tough to source because I usually use Facebook to search what I did in the year. They used to have a feature on the timeline where you could order your posts by month and year... but they don't have that anymore, so as a new source, I am just going to update this blog as frequently as I can, so that I can refer back to this later. :)
I think we're going to head to the gym soon, but I am going to watch some YouTube videos for a bit. I'm also looking into a new BB cream and possibly some new clothes, but we'll see what cool deals are out there, first.
