Things to do before the new year
And so with that, I need to focus before the new year. I'm going to try to find some more jobs and perhaps a full-time one before February, but I also need to see how the assistant gig will fare out in terms of hours.
Today and tomorrow I need to:
- Edit my videos
- Work on stuff for bf's business
- Do some training
- Write a blog post on my blog about my goals for the new year
We had a long day today (I was shopping for swimwear and PJs) and didn't get home until around 8pm, so we're working quite late into the night today. It's almost 11pm!
So I won't get too much done today, so I'll have to do my editing tomorrow and my training tomorrow.
Then I also have to do some chores too, there's a ton of laundry waiting to be cleaned and I need to clean my bathroom as well.
I plan to have this all done by Monday evening, then Tuesday I may have some meetings and I will commence my search again for jobs. And then hang out with some friends in the evening for a dinner party!
Oh, we also need to go rent some ski equipment tomorrow as well.
Lots of things to do!

This week was quite the rollercoaster, but I'm pumped!

Next steps
Friday - Some of my friends came over and we had dinner and chatted it up until midnight. We shared some stories of things we were going through, and gave each other some solid advice. I really enjoyed the time that we spent just chilling out. We're making plans soon to chill again!
Saturday - Had lunch with my family and went shopping for the holidays. Didn't get all of our shopping done, and went to Dan's co-worker's holiday party. It was quite a fun day! I met a few new people and talked about things that were happening.
Sunday - Had brunch with my friend and chatted about what was going on and got some advice from her on how I should handle things and move forward. Went shopping again for holiday decor, etc. to prep for our party this week. Edited for a bit and read up on articles.
It was a nice weekend of fun festivities and seeing friends. :)
My second week at my new job went by pretty quickly. I attended a social media workshop and had a few phone calls and such but then I had a meeting with my boss and well, I didn't meet up to their expectations. I'd like to point out that when I applied for the position, I thought I was only going to be doing a set list of things, but then after getting into the position, I was asked to do x and y. Ok, cool, I have experience with y, so that was good. But the thing is, x was what I was hired for, and because I had to do both x and y, it was tough for me to meet the quota that was outlined for me last week.
On Friday we had a meeting and my boss basically told me that it was costing them to have me on the team. (This is only my second week!) I kept asking questions on how to start our process, but there is no procedure and my boss had never done something like this before, so the answers I'm given really don't help me at all.
I know I wasn't going to make these numbers, because it was my second week and the numbers were s unrealistic. It's not how I learn and with the right training, I can succeed.
My boss realized they need to take y away from me so I can focus on x, and so that's what will happen this week.
This whole weekend I've been telling people my situation and what they thought of it. They all told me that it doesn't sound like a fit and that I should start looking. I have started and now I'm thinking that I should really go forward with my other goals like my video stuff and blog. Also, there's a few opportunities that I can build my resume with that I can look at. I was also given great advice by a friend who said I should look for the kind of leader I want instead of just looking at a position. That makes a lot of sense!
I feel lost. I feel like there's not a lot of support. Third week starts this week and I feel like I know nothing...
I think they were expecting someone who could meet on these expectations. I don't even know if I have the chance to look things up on my own. I felt like I was working too slow. There's only so many things I can get done in 8 hours, with meetings and other things going on.
Also this is such a new industry for me... a new industry with much bigger numbers. Numbers that are hard to obtain because you need investors.
I haven't really felt welcomed with the onboarding process... there really is none.
I even asked for more training on how things work. I was told that I should just act confident and like I know it... but how is that going to help? People will see right through me and if they ask a question that I don't know, I can't just make up an answer. That's not being genuine.
I'm going to see how this week pans out but I'm going to keep up with my search.

First Week + Weekend Shenanigans
Some days felt longer than others, and some days just flew by so quickly. Monday & Tuesday I was still learning the ropes of things, learning the background and history of the job and company and then on Wednesday I had a traning seminar. That took a full day so then Thursday rolled in and I had a presentation to go to for a bit, was able to get off work early and then did some background work. I don't know if my supervisor wants me to work faster, but the way I work is that I background check everything, and so they were quite confused of how many items I was going through on Friday. I sped things up a little bit in the afternoon, not checking the background as much and doing as much as I could, and dove right into most of my duties. At the end of the day I was given an expectations list for the next few weeks. It's going to be week two tomorrow and I am quite excited! Let's see what I can get done!!!!
I was pretty exhausted on Friday and so we had dinner with my family and then we were going to watch a movie but I was too tired.
Saturday - We went to see The Disaster Artist and got some pizza from Blaze Pizza. Then watched Riverdale and watched the bf play Until Dawn. I also did some laundry and prepped a few outfits for the work week.
Sunday - We watched Shokugeki no Soma for a bit, then got ready quickly to attend our friends' baby's first birthday. It was nice seeing them and friends as well as the many kids around the house! They were very nice and gave us some cupcakes to take home haha. Afterwards, we went shopping for Secret Santa gifts, a purse hook table hanger (oh my gosh it took me forever to find a store that carried these!!! I need it for my bag at work to prevent it from being on the floor the whole time.), some cover stock (was originally going to buy card stock) for my greeting cards and then we went home. As we stepped out of the car, we heard a voice asking if we wanted to have Pho... turns out it was our friends (who are also our neighbours) and so we went and ate Pho for dinner with them. It was fun! Now we're at home and I finished folding the laundry, made some tea and now just doing a bit of relaxing before bed time.
I'm going to wash my water flask now and then pack what I need for work. Then do some meditation with Headspace!

Growing Up
I'm just going to watch some YouTube videos for a bit to chill, and then head to bed. It'll be my first week of work and I know it'll be a big one! The days will feel a bit longer because I need to wake up earlier and I will be off work later than I have ever been before.
I'm going to try to make coffee at work tomorrow, though! I really needed it on my first day but I managed with just water/lemon water that I made at home.
The rest of the plan for tomorrow is to finish editing, and then maybe do some more reading. I'll probably watch YouTube videos though because there's vlogmas going on. :)

First Day + Saturday Wrap-Up
I definitely think I need to open up more and ask as many questions as possible. A lot of the stuff kind of seems open-ended, and since I'm quite used to some structure, it's making me feel strange, so I need to speak up! I also got to go to a presentation during the afternoon and even got off work early. Wow!
My first official week starts next week, so I'm happy that I have the weekend to do more relaxing before I prepare for a longer work day. This is probably the longest work day I've had, extended by 30 minutes. I was pretty exhausted yesterday and after having dinner, I fell asleep on the couch!
This morning and afternoon we didn't really do much. I edited my vlogmas vlog and posted it and then we had instant noodles for lunch. We tried to eat light as we had a dinner buffet at The One Sushi with our volunteer crew.
We were going to watch a movie but work needs to be done! So I'm just chilling now and listening to some music. One of our friends is planning to come over later tonight, so I'm trying to stay up and not look lazy... haha.
I may watch a bit of my drama hm...
Tomorrow we'll be visiting our friends' baby for the first time. Afterwards we'll probably do some grocery shopping and I will do some meal prep before as well.

Tried my commute today
Monday, November 27, 2017
Back to a hobby routine
We went to bed late last night so I didn't try my commute today... not on 5 hours of sleep, nope. So I woke up at 8:46am instead to a text I got and needed to respond to about work. I'm glad I woke up a bit early, though, it helped me start my day earlier and get things going.
Today I cleaned the house (bathrooms, cabinet handles, drawers, ledges in the rooms) and vacuumned the hardwood floors a bit too. I also finished my editing work and then picked up some groceries/snacks at Airang, had dinner with my family and even vlogged! I didn't take Tofu out because it got really chilly, we'll have to take him on a day where it's much warmer.
Right now I'm working on my bullet journal as it's almost 10PM. I didn't get a chance to clean my wardrobe, so I'm going to leave that to tomorrow after I come home from my commute. I can also edit my vlog a bit. I'm planning on vlogging for a few days this week and combining it all in one video. Then vlogmas begins!
I guess I could do some editing now though.. hmm...
Oh yeah, why the title...
well I plan on getting back to the routine of pursuing my hobbies again, been neglecting that for a while. Vlogging is quite fun and although there are a lot of clips I don't end up using, it's nice to practice speech (just like a Sim!) and also edit my own videos. I also will blog more frequently both here and on my other blog. I should also play more games, colour... read... yup... lots of fun things to do, just need to convince myself to do these things more often. I will!

Finally went to the gym....
Today we went to the holiday expo market and roamed the vendors for a bit. Got a D.Va pop figure for Christmas! :) Then we went to cross iron to look at acrylic shelves and try to find gift for the holidays. Managed to find the boif's parents a gift and we got some other things too. Oh the deals!! I went into the Guess store and enjoyed the bags I saw, but I don't know if I really need a new bag quite yet... but it was 30% off and I guess if I bought it I could return it if I really didn't need it...
Going to chill out for a bit now and eat some dinner. We were going to take Tofu out today but it's quite dark outside now. I miss the summer days where it wouldn't get dark until about 10pm. We'll take him tomorrow after dinner with the family.
I should also do some bujoing... and maybe finish my nanoblock project. Eep!
Onto new adventures!
One door closed and one new door has opened and it's time to move on. I loved my job a lot, I grew so much and I learned a copious amount about digital marketing and e-commerce. And I can't forget the business development experience I acquired as well. It was a great entry level role that I got a lot out of and I had a big participation in. But I knew that I needed to grow and expand my knowledge, so I did something about it which lead to my new position.
I start my new job this week, so I'm taking a few days to try out my commute and to work on things I haven't had a chance to do.
Other things I plan to do:
- clean the house (we've been neglecting cleaning lately because we're so busy with projects and work things!)
- figure out my wardrobe for my job and tidy up stuff (I got a lot of new clothes this week, so it might be time to donate/purge some clothes)
- study Japanese (I am a super procrastinator)
- plan my bujo
- meal prep (or at least snack prep?)
- buy groceries
- play Overwatch/games
- have some chill time
This is how it'll hopefully schedule out:
Monday - wake up early, do my routine (going to have makeup and contacts on again for the first time in the work mornings in ages), try out my commute, head back home and then clean and figure out my wardrobe and plan the bujo - I might also try to check out some last minute Black Friday deals too...
Tuesday - try another commute way if the first one didn't work, start snack prepping, buy groceries, study Japanese and play games/chill
Wednesday - repeat chill
Thursday - make sure I have my stuff all ready/charged, outfit good to go, snacks good to go for the work day!

Chillaxing
Friday - Went to Stage West with plus ones and co worker and had a nostalgia night watching performances from the 90s. Food was great and holiday-themed! Afterwards, had a chill night with a friend and then went to bed around 3am. Late night!
Saturday - We got up pretty late and played some Life is Strange and did some work. I did some research for my new job for an hour and learned a little bit more. I should take some time after work this week to do some more research again as well. My new job will be fun and have a huge learning curve, so I want to be as ready as possible! We then went to my family's for lunch and played with Tofu, then headed to the bf's work holiday party. There was a fun-money casino and the food was really good, and bottomless soft drinks! :) Got home around 11:30pm, but I was so pooped and ended up napping for two hours, then went to bed.
Today we stayed at home for the entire day, played some Life is Strange and I took another two hour nap. I was so exhausted from our weekend of going out, and now I'm writing this post and about to have dinner. I think we'll try to go to the gym today. Was going to try this new chimney cake coffee house in town, but they close at 6pm... oh well, can always try this week!
I've meal prepped for tomorrow and just need to prep some snacks as well. Planned my outfits for the next few days too, so I'm all set. This week is my last week at my workplace, ahhh! So I definitely enjoyed the lazy Sunday before I have to legit wrap things up and make sure everything is good before I go. Not too many things, just got to send a few emails and finish a few projects and then I'm ready for a mini staycation to prepare for the transition to my new job.
I think I might do a bit of editing today too. It already seems really late because outside it's so dark, but it's only past 7pm!
I also need to wash some dishes... and do a bunch of house chores. Hmm. Let's see what I can get done. :)

Low-key weekend
Friday - We went to Boogies Burgers for the first time. It was sooo good! We tried the milkshakes and also got the chicken burger with the pineapple slices and the veggie burger with black beans. We also got some spicy fries. Everything was really tasty and we also played some Street Fighter on the old school arcade games. Only 25 cents to play! We also finished Stranger things and watched Riverdale. Ahhh cliff hangers!!!
Saturday - We went to the airport to see the bf's parents and also went grocery shopping. I forgot to buy a thermos for future soup eating... I also picked up a few more items online from the Sephora VIB sale.
Sunday - I went to the European Film Festival with my friend and we also went shopping. My friend got a little black dress and some makeup from Sephora and I also got a pink cardigan from Simons and stocked up on some toiletries. Was a good shopping trip. I wanted to shop more in Sephora but there wasn't really anything I needed... but I would like to get some foundations I've been eyeing but they don't have the particular one I'm looking for... :( My shade is quite universal and so it's out of stock everywhere... After I got home though I asked another friend about the Tangle Teezer and now I'm wondering if I should get that too... or maybe just get the other foundation I've been eyeing... it's also not a bad idea to stock up on the basics like eyeliner and what not... but I don't even use Sephora eyeliner as much as I used to anymore...
I'm going to build a nanoblock soon and then do some bujo. I should also write a blog post soon and post it... been procrastinating quite a bit!

Chillest Weekend, and the Countdown Begins!
Friday - It snowed like crazy the last few days and so we went to have dinner with my family, played with Tofu and then went to get a bunch of groceries. Now we're set to hibernate for a while. We watched Stranger Things, Riverdale and a bunch of other stuff. I did a sleeping mask and I hadn't done one in a while, but at this time of the year the dryness sucks the moisturize right out of me. I researched some face masks I could get and then found out that Origins has a 20% off sale on their site... but I might just wait until the VIB sale at Sephora that is coming up in a few weeks.
Saturday - We filmed for the bf's project for a bit and I was his makeup artist and cinematographer. It was fun! Afterwards, we went to go pick up a boardgame to use for the project from a friend, then took some time to check out the E-mart supermarket that we've been hearing about. We bought some tofu, kimchi, some green tea cookies (we were hungry for a snack) and some soba noodles. Now we have lots of groceries! We found out that they also have an in-house bakery for rice cakes and also a cafe!! Sooo cool. I want to try their food the next time we're there. Afterwards, we went to Market Mall to exchange my boots that I got for my birthday, but they didn't have the colour/size available. :( So the nice associate said she would place the order online for me. Which was awesome, because I found out it shipped today! Yay, so I will have boots that fit me. These boots have great leg room for big calves like mine, but the foot is bigger too... so I had to get a size 6 instead of the 7 that I had originally. After, we got pretzels from Mr. Pretzel. Oh man, they were SOOOOO good!! Instant goodness and free samples too... I got Neopolitano which had parmesean cheese and italian spices and then the bf got a pretzel with Nutella drizzle. I loved the texture of the bread. The price was so reasonable too. You get a huge pretzel for only $3.75! We stayed up watching Stranger Things after and had wraps for dinner.
Sunday - Daylight savings time! It always feels weird on the first day we turn the clocks back an hour. I'm excited to wake up with no more darkness! Today we're also taking it easy as the bf needs to work on some stuff, but I'm cleaning and meal prepping and getting ready for the work week. I want to go for a walk or to a bakeshop or something later today, though! Will also try to draft up some more blog posts and get back to the mindset of building my blog again. It's very easy to lose momentum when your day-to-day is so busy! It's hard to focus on other things.
And I haven't written about this yet, but I'm starting a new job soon! The application and interview process was really smooth. I had a phone interview with the recruiter a few days after sending in my application and then met with the recruiter a few days later. My meeting was not as formal as other interviews, which made it really easy to be myself in front of the recruiter. Then a few days later I had the interview with the founder of the company and now I have a new job! I gave my notice about a week ago and just told my team the other day that I was leaving the company. I cried as I'll really miss my team and working there, but it's time to move onto my next career opportunity and I am super excited!

It's already after the weekend...
I'll recap last week...
Wednesday we had our team dinner to celebrate work stuff at Japanese Village. Love the rice sauce sooo much and I found out that you can purchase a bottle for only $9. I think I'll stop by the restaurant one day to get a bottle for home.
On Thursday I went to Vendome Cafe with my friend. We caught up about school and work and listened to a live band play. It was pretty fun for a weeknight!
On Friday we went to the corn maze. I didn't realize just how far it was, but it was really nice when we got there. We even got some tokens to use and fed some of the animals. Sooo cute. And saw a bunch of pumpkins and a bunch of cats hanging out with them. Yes. We also went to Bookers BBQ for some food and to use our gift card.
Saturday I went shopping with my friend. We went through a bunch of stores in Sunridge and there were a ton of sales. My friend got a few tops to take with her back home as gifts and I got myself some fragrance mist from The Body Shop. I rarely shop there but when I do, I like to get their mists because they smell really nice and have a fainter scent and are not overpowering. It was really nice to catch up with my friend. I also had to go to the Zoo to do something for work, and then we ate at my parents' house for dinner.
On Sunday we filmed for the bf's project at our friend's house, then filmed after for volunteering. We had Poke bowls for dunch through Foodora again, it was good but I think I am tired of Poke bowls now... :( Too many sauces haha.
Yesterday we celebrated my brother's birthday and had the cousins over. Got my brother a Hitmen jersey to wear and a nice card. :)
Today felt like a Friday. It's only Tuesday. I have so much to do at work this week it's nuts. Hoping that I can get all the work I need to do tomorrow. Meeting last minute deadlines is a recurring thing but there's a sense of endorphins that come with it that make it really motivating! I am excited for the weekend though.

It's Almost November!
On Friday we saw an ATP show... it was probably the shortest performance we've watched. I don't know if I liked it enough to say a lot about it. One particular scene mimicked a storm and it was amazing!
On Saturday we went to our friends' baby shower. Ahh we're at that age now where we are not only celebrating people's marriages, but also their growing families! Afterwards, I did some research for some stuff and a tiny bit of work on my blog.
On Sunday we mostly just chilled at home, had dinner at Jinya though! Not sure if I enjoyed the ramen as much as I wanted to... :( Maybe I should try something different next time.
Back at work for a full week this week and it's only Tuesday yet I feel liked I worked four days already. It has been so busy at work and it's quite awesome. I have lots of evening plans for the rest of the week too, so hard work will pay off!
I finished putting together my foam core background for product photos today. I forgot that creases are really strong in folded wrapping paper... but hey, it was only $1.50 so I think I can manage... haha.
I should work on my blog some more tomorrow. I finished editing today but uploading right now and it's going to take 14 hours!!! Oh man, that's way too long. :( I miss the days where it would only take 3 hrs, but maybe right now it's taking so long because we're both using the interwebs. Hmmm... hopefully the upload speed is much faster once we turn off our devices.
Time to go chill for a bit and then head to bed soon!

Quite Productive
I was also quite productive today too. I finished my edit of my haul video... and my normal video editing stuff. Now I just need to create some thumbnail art and start posting about the video on my blog and everywhere.
I also looked at other positions and deep inside I really can't shake off the remote work mindset. And so I found another freelancer website and made a profile. I've decided I'll give it a try... build up my portfolio again and get some work done until I can balance this out with my blog, too.
I drafted a whole bunch of blog posts as well. Taking outfit photos in advance really helps. It's just trying to figure out what else to say in my outfit posts that's a challenge... but I can always talk about the inspiration behind the outfit, why I chose a certain piece... and ask my audience questions.
I need to set goals again for both my blog and channel. I'm trying again. At least one post per week and at least two videos a month... ok that sounds too little... if I can pull out one video a week I think that would be pretty great!
I have one more day of staycation and I'm going to try to get up a bit earlier so I can finish my posts and video stuff... so that I won't need to work on it throughout the week. I'm going to be pretty swamped at work when I come back, so I kind of rather spend my evenings chilling out for a bit. I also have evening plans as well, so I'm going to be pretty tired and busy! Also got to leave out some time to schedule in any freelance work that could come in, right?
I also need to do some meal prep for the week... luckily that's only two things of lunch (or maybe one?) since I'll be meeting up with friends for lunch. Although I prefer not eating out so much at lunch time to save money and to save time!

Staycation!!
On Thursday I slept in and I went downtown to run some errands. I bought some glue for a project the bf is working on, and then I went to get my haircut at Etch Hair Design. My lovely stylist was so gentle with my hair and gave me a lot of tips! I also bought a hair elixir to help me with tangles in my blonde hair. It's been really good so far and I'm happy that my stylist helped me get my nasty bird's nest out of my hair. It was driving me nuts for the past months, I couldn't detangle it and just hid it as much as I could.
I was going to edit my haul video that day, but we had friends over after I got my haircut. Had McDonalds, and feel terrible but we got Monopoly board game pieces for the contest. I also won a 3 month subscription to a magazine service. Wahoooo!
On Friday, I slept in a bit and woke up and waited about three hours for the contractors to come over to change our filter... but they never came. Then we got a noticed that it was postponed... to next week. So I have to remember to provide my key as I probably won't be able to get the day off. (I'm not sure how many PTOs I have left for the year, so I'll save them.)
After, I went to the gym for the first time in forever... got a decent workout and then made a vlog. I also went to the registry office to renew my operator's license and then I went to go look for some wrapping paper to use as a backdrop for product photos. Couldn't find what I was looking for, so I just looked around at purses, Simon's, and bought mustard. Then went back home, dropped off everything, met up with the bf and then headed to my parents' to have dinner. We then went to The Rec Room after for their grand opening. It was soooo packed, but it was fun! We won over 1000 tickets from playing a bunch of games. Great date night or birthday party option. They also had their own donuts there that apparently were great as they were sold out everytime we asked for one. Also got a few coupons for appetizers after we left. Score.
Yesterday we went to the Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival. It was really cool sampling a bunch of different drinks and food, and we even had some extra pours as well as some sample tickets were given to us by a nice couple, however we ran out of time and couldn't use them all. :( I also got a free pen from one booth (they just gave it to me all of a sudden lol) and then we also got a bunch of coupons for free food at some places, so it was well worth the $17 per ticket we paid! I was going to have dinner afterwards with some friends, but that got postponed to today.
We were going to go over to a friend's house today to shoot some photos and video for our project, but something unexpected came up on their side, so we are doing everything at home today. Tonight I'll go for dinner with my friends. I'm super hungry right now and we haven't eaten lunch yet... maybe I'l have some spring rolls. Hmm.

Another 3 day weekend!
Friday - Had a typical Friday evening... stayed inside and watched stuff.
Saturday - Watched Blade Runner 2049 and went for a birthday buffet dinner with my family. I also filmed my haul video for my channel (yay, content!)
Sunday - Did grocery shopping, bought some foam core and supplies, and went to Olive Garden with the boif for my birthday dinner together :)
Today we mostly stayed inside, but took some outfit photos outside for my blog, played Bananagrams, made avocado toast, had leftover pasta from last night, and had curry for dinner.
I have a two day work week this week, so I'm looking forward to that! Then it's staycation time. I'm going to work on my blog and then we have some house stuff that needs to be done and mail to wait for, so I'll take care of that. I also plan to get a haircut... not sure where though and when!

Fall is Here
Went to Betty Lou's & Blaze Pizza on Thursday On Friday we went and had dinner with family and took Tofu out for a walk and played dance central. Yesterday we went to the mall to look at boardgames and random things but didn't buy anything. Tried to go to WOW Bakery for some Asian pastries... but unfortunately the bakery was closed for renovations! So then we went to Wow Chicken for dinner... the chicken there is amazing. We also had bulgogi fries and those were great too. Big portions... definitely will go back there again the next time we are craving fried chicken. :) We then went to the Regal Cat Cafe to look at cats through the glass partition. They were sooo cute!
We played more dance central last night and also Life is Strange. Today we took a walk around the neighborhoods, went to Mari for a pastry and some tea, and looked at our garden plots. Had Poke bowls for lunch at home and I think we're going to have soup for dinner. So hungry right now as I keep eating chips... oops.
I think I'll take it easy today since it's the weekend. I did some promo stuff for my blog and then I'll probably watch a bit of YouTube... maybe build nanoblocks. We'll see.
This week I don't have plans in the evenings other than editing... hmmm. I should make plans again with friends, but it's getting colder, so it's kind of hard to go outside. T_T

New & Bold
On Friday we spent time with family, got an xbox 360 and got Dance Central 1 & 2. Saturday I watched IT with my friend and went out for some ramen at Samurai Sushi. It was nice catching up with my friend :) Haven't seen her in a while! I also watched Horns that night with the bf. It was pretty weird and unexpected. I'm glad I didn't have nightmares that night after watching two horror movies.
On Sunday we had breakfast at Phil's and some gelato from Amato Gelato with a few friends. Then we watched the bf edit a video for them and afterwards bf and I played some Dance Central.
I typed a little bit of a blog post about CAMP on my blog. Will finish it tomorrow!
I started applying to opportunities. I'm curious about the startup and develope world and just put in an application for a role at a company that looks really cool. That's why I am up late...
I need to finish my tea now and then I'll head to bed. Oh, I took a nap today too... so that doesn't really help... need to get up a bit earlier tomorrow and look refreshed!

Whoa the weekend
This weekend was a pretty relaxing/busy weekend. Not too busy though!
On Friday we went to ATP and saw, "The Last Wife". Really great acting, although not sure if I liked the plot, there was also some adult themes. We also saw our friend for a bit!
Yesterday we filmed some stuff for our project, had dinner with my family, picked up a package and got an oil change. Running errands!
Today we filmed for most of the day and then went for some bubbletea and ramen with friends.
Low key but busy!
This week I plan to hit the gym, maybe purchase some books (or borrow e-books!) and work on my blog and relax for a bit. There's also a few postings I want to apply to, so I'll do that as well.

I feel so inspired!
I looked through the schedule and didn't really know what to expect. The descriptions of the panels didn't really make sense as to how I could benefit from them... but then I saw some panels on remote working and finding your own inspiration, so I thought I would just go to those ones.
Did that happen? Not only did I go to those two, but I attended almost ALL the panels! Some panels overlapped eachother, so I couldn't go to all of them... and on my first day I was so pooped because there was SO. MUCH. KNOWLEDGE. coming at me!
I had to call it a day after 4pm on the first day... and then I attended the second day and wow... it was a true eyeopener. I learned about the hololens, lego, graphic design projects done by prestigious design companies and designers, etc. It was so awesome and I am looking forward to going again next year (early-bird prices!)
The panel that really resonated with me the most was the remote one. It was all about working remotely and how to transition your workforce that way. Also, the presenter is actually a developer. I took a look at their profile and looked at the courses they took and sigh, their marketing tactics are starting to work on me... maybe I should learn how to code too? I mean I know how to troubleshoot some basic stuff in HTML and CSS, but it'd probably be more beneficial for my career (and for a remote work career) if I knew how to code, design, market and be creative!!
I'd love to go to their school to learn, but it's all the way in Toronto! I'm going to see if we have anything similar here... if not, then Code Academy it is!
After attending CAMP, I realized that there's a whole bunch of possibilities out there. I love marketing, I love being creative, but I also freaking love being resourceful... and I think if I learn how to code, that'll just add to knowing more about the behind-the-scenes to help solve problems and prevent them! Now I just need to find ways to encompass this in my work... hmm. But first, I must practice what I want to do and find the right opportunity!
I felt really tired this week and my head felt stuffy... I'm wondering if I'm feeling overworked from coming into work after vacation... or rather my perfect productive time is actually around 9 - 10am in the morning. If I can find an opportunity that is flexible with this, then that would be gooooold!
This is what I need to practice:
Blogging
Graphic Design
Video
Code
Job I want:
Remote work
Creative
Marketing
Blogging
and FUN!

This week was much better!
I actually have another long weekend because I'm attending a conference tomorrow and on Tuesday.
On Friday we went to Stage West with my colleague and had a yummy buffet and watched a great show. On Saturday I didn't feel so great... so I didn't do anything but try to nap and all I could feel was gross because I had eaten too much the night before. I did go out for some food from 7-11 after though when I felt better. I did do a mask in the afternoon and it smelt really chemical-like, so I wonder if that contributed to me feeling gross?
Today I was much more productive. I got up early and went for ramen at Jinya Ramen with some friends, had a chicken bun which was quite delicious! I've always heard about their Jinya buns but never got to try one until today. I bought one to take home for Dan and then we took Tofu out for a walk and to chill out while we watched Netflix. He took a few naps and ate some food and then we took him back home and had dinner as well. Afterwards, we went grocery shopping (again). Now we're at home just chillin', doing laundry and getting stuff done.
I could have done more yesterday but ahh feeling gross isn't so fun. :( I'm going to do some more chilling tonight and then I have to be up early tomorrow for my conference and get my badge.
Also need to edit too. Lots to do!

I am getting stressed out :(
It's actually kinda worrisome if I think about it... I pretty much look forward to my weekends a lot now. Like, a lot. It's really bad because that means I'm not enjoying my weekdays.
I first wanted to get out some stress by writing this post. I was pretty burnt out from work this week and I really want to take a staycation. This is so bad. Why? Because it means I am burning out, I'm not enjoying work anymore and I have to do something about it. It's also the worst time (kind of?) to do something about it because it's starting to get super busy for everyone.
I know I sound weird right now but I need to focus on myself. I need to find out what will make me happy. I really believe a flexible schedule and if I could work from home, that would make me so happy. It would also cut the stress of struggling in the mornings to get up and to get to the office. I am NOT a morning person. I am a mid-morning person!
I also hate meal prepping. And prepping for my work week (clothes to wear, etc.) and so I decided to do something different about it. Instead of doing all this stuff the night before, I tried to do it the morning before or a few days before, and it's working pretty well. Because I got these tasks out of the way earlier, now I feel like I have more time in the day to dedicate to other things and relax before I have to go back to work.
Anyway, that's my rant for now. Ranting only helps a little bit, it's now up to the actions I take to make things better.
Recap of this weekend:
Friday - I went for dim sum with a friend I haven't seen a while. We caught up and it was fun! Bought some egg tarts and a slice of coffee cake, pretty much treated myself after a stressful work week. Also applied for a job.
Saturday - We spent the afternoon at the Zoo, got some soft serve there, ate some healthy wraps and then went to get a slurpee and ginger ale from 7-Eleven. Friends came over and played board games at our place, I watched some anime and then went to delloR with my friend and had a nice walk. It was pretty smokey that evening though, not a great idea to walk in that, but I wanted to catch up and get some MORE icecream! Haha.
Sunday - We went out and got groceries, played games, watching some tv series, cooked dinner and worked on some side hustle stuff. Pretty chill day. I napped too, needed that nap so badly.
And today we did laundry, I did the dishes and we're about to clean the house again. Then we have to do some photography with some friends and then we will have dinner with family. I also did all of my work prep already, so that's out of the way now.
Other things I have to do today is edit. But I might just do half today and the rest tomorrow to give me a breather... but then if I finish it all today, then I can relax all evening tomorrow.
I also want to work on my blog today. I'll type up a little bit and see what else I can do today. I'm pretty exhausted. :( I haven't been keeping up with my bujo lately, but trying to get back into it.
The last week I think in the evenings I mostly spent researching... so I should take some time off this week and just focus on me.

Back at it again
Saturday - I had dinner with a friend and watched the fireworks at GlobalFest. It was really nice catching up with my friend who I've been friends with since junior high. So nice to catch up and we plan on hanging out more!
On Sunday we had double date brunch at Brokin Yolk, and then went over to our friends' house to chill and drink mango pineapple slushes. :) Then I made a post on my blog and went live with my blog site. Yup, I bought the domain after doing a ton of research for the best price, speed, and space for me right now. Lovin' it so far.
I also started to look at other jobs again. I'm at a weird place in my career life right now. I definitely want to pursue blogging... but I know that will take quite some time. Also, because I start work so early in the morning, it makes it super difficult for me to be like other bloggers, when they started out they would wake up early in the morning to work on their blog, use their lunch hour, and work after work. I can't do the mornings, I'd have to wake up at 6am since I start work at 8am. And for my lunches I like to take those as a relaxer from my work day and break up the work day. I also wouldn't lug my laptop to work each day since it's so heavy (maybe if I had a tablet and keyboard :)). After work and on weekends seems like the only time I can promote my blog and work on it, and I'd love to do more promotions more often.
But yeah, I started looking at other jobs because I do want a more flexible work schedule and I also want to break out of this routine. Right now I feel like I can't really turn to anyone to ask the things I want to ask to help me break out of these routines. I often feel and find that my managers are too busy for me, and I remember in my first year of work, I didn't get 'scolded', but because I was new, I didn't know some of the higher ups would react to certain situations as they would. They would show a side that I had not seen before, pretty much making me afraid of asking them. I'm very afraid of their rejection and when they are negative or in a bad mood. I can feel the atmosphere. :( I understand that they are busy for a reason and have their own work to do, but if they could give more authority to the employees or set time for feedback/suggestions each week, that would be ideal. So I'm looking for something that would encompass that.
I have found a position that I am going to apply to this week. I am really loving their personality and online presence.
Update on the staycations/me time though. It looks like only one person can take vacation as there is a blackout period for the next couple of months due to the high volume of things going on. It's great that it's getting busier, but that means I might feel very exhausted. I am looking forward to learning from the digital media festival and taking some time off at that time to focus on me. I wish there were metime days.
Anyway, the takeaway from this is that I either find a new job I like so that it makes my work day better and makes me happy while I pursue my blog on the side.
I will find a new job!
(I can't believe I am saying that, but affirmations are the way to go.)
I have experience and I will find a new job!

I need more staycations + take it slowly
It feels nice to be back home to my own bed, but ahh back to work tomorrow. It's going to be a busy week, which is definitely euphoric for me, and breezes the week work by! However after my vacation I realized I really need to take more metime days and staycations. I'm going to book some days off in September to attend a digital media convention that I won a badge for, so that'll be nice! I need to figure out what panels I want to go to, though. Not a lot of the content is relevant to the industries I'm interested/involved in, but hey, it'd be cool to learn something new.
I think I may take some more staycation days off too. Probably not this month as there's only two weeks left in August.. but maybe a few more in September and October.
My weekend was pretty relaxing. On Friday we went to the mall to do some shopping. Then we went downtown and grabbed some ice cream. On Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market and got a bunch of fruits, then we went to a buffet place. It was so packed but it was good and so clean. Also got some new shoes with cartoon puppies on them. :) Yesterday I went home and we went for lunch at Applebees. After having a lot of junk food on vaca, I opted for a kale salad. :) Then we went out to get groceries, and my yogurt parfait container (yay, I can be more meal prepared now). Made some bowls for dinner and then played Life is Strange and just chilled.
It was so nice to sleep in my own bed and not with any stuffyness/allergies!
So what's with the 'take it slowly' part of my post title? Well... after all the research I've been doing on blogging, working from home, etc... basically all the things I've learned so far to work towards self-employment (so opposite from my goals from three years ago!) I've realized that I really have to take things step-by-step. There's a lot of things I've learned that bloggers do for side income. And a few of them I can start now, but I have to build my income and audience to get to the other ways of income (like working with different brands, etc... I need to get more engagement to do those.)
Right now I am just going to start off with affiliate links, and join some ad networks that accept smaller bloggers, etc. Then as I work on building my engagement and audience, I can then reach out to other brands to collaborate/talk about commission. Right now I can also focus on trying to get some freelance clients too to build my portfolio and span of work. All of this is going to work towards my goal of self-employment. :)
I didn't purchase my domain/site yet. Why? Well... it's a little out of my budget right now with the host I was considering before, and there were just a lot of good reviews that seemed too good to be true, and a lot of the reviews I read were all through affiliated partners... I checked out some other hosting providers that had more competitive prices and reviews, as well as what I really wanted (free lifetime domain, and no increased renewal fees, great uptime/fast bandwidth and excellent service), and I think I've found it! I'm going to try FastComet for a year and see how it is. If it's really good, then I'll also move my portfolio site there. (or I may just go back to free hosting for my portfolio site, since I've not really trying to build traffic...)
Anyway, need to go back to editing and my blog now. Took some great photos :)

A lot of stuff happened!
I am also in Kelowna spending time with family. We've been going out pretty much everyday, which is great as we usually just chill at home. It's nice to have a staycation. :) I should do this more often! (Blogging, please work out!!)
A recap of last week:
Wednesday - Had a check-in talk with my boss and mentioned that I want to do more work. So that's hopefully coming. I realized that when I get back we're going to be shortstaffed for a few days, so it'll be pretty busy for me next week.
Thursday - Went to Bookers with the team, made a video.
Friday - Went to Hapa Izakaya for the first time for some risotto. Yummy!
Saturday - Watched anime and then went to Kelowna.
Sunday - Went grocery shopping at Costco, Walmart and Superstore
Monday - Went to the dollar store
Tuesday - Went to get an external hard drive for my computer at Best Buy and then went to get some pies from A&W
Wednesday - Went out for wings night
Today we went to the Kangroo Creek Farm to check out the capybars, kangaroos and birds and other animals. Got the chance to hold a baby kangaroo. Soooo cute!
I've also been playing a lot of Sailor Moon Drops and catching up on YouTube videos. Haven't bought my blog domain yet but I think I may purchase it today. Started doing some paid surveys online for some extra income. I got the idea from a blogger who release their monthly income reports and details where their income came from, quite helpful! I think I'll start an Amazon FBA store too. Would be a good way of getting rid of things that I don't need, as I do have some things that are brand new!

Long Weekend + More Productivity
Plans kind of fell through so we didn't end up going for our team dinner (weather wasn't great), so we've postponed it to this Thursday evening.
Each night after going home from work I did blog research and looked up freelance gigs. I haven't purchased a domain yet... I'm kind of holding back because eek it's a huge commitment, but at the same time I have to go through with this if I want my blog to grow to it's full potential! So ahh, I should probably make that purchase today.
I know I've been productive with blog stuff, but as for everything else... not really. I took it easier last week.
So it's the long weekend right now and here's what we did:
Friday - Ate dinner with my family and played with Tofu. We then just chilled as per usual and I did a bit of editing at home.
Saturday - Went to Canmore and ate at The Iron Goat with Dan's parents. Busy place, expensive, but great food! :)
Sunday - Went back home and went to Ikea for dinner/bought a carafe and washi tape (we were looking for parfait jars and patio furniture but no avail), and then went to Alforno for some drinks and had a tiramisu cake cup. Watch some anime.
Monday - Chatted with a friend while the guys were playing frisbee, got covered in a bunch of gnats and had to fight them off for a bit. Went grocery shopping, paid the bills and had dinner with my family.
Back to work tomorrow... and I'm hoping for a busier work week this week. I prepped everything I needed to for my work week except for meal prep, but I might just take some spring rolls or leftover quinoa salad. I have a little meetup with my supervisor on Wednesday to talk about any questions I have since our last meeting. I know lately my work load has been so slow and light, but it looks like everyone else experiences the same. I'd love to ask about the potential to take either part-time shirts or to work from home... but I don't know if that's a possibility. I really want to succeed with blogging and freelancing and so I don't want to show any weird impressions at work.
I guess I will look up ways other people might have tried to bring up part-time or work from home opportunities. May as well try!
I am trying to queue up a bunch of content to keep myself busy with my blog. :) All of this research feels like I am gong back to school again because I am learning so much! I can't wait to apply all the things I have come across so far. Oh and I also got accepted for some ad networks, so I'm hoping to start with these for a bit!

Inspired
It's almost been 2 years (or maybe 3 years) since I started my other blog and I think now's the time I should start taking it a bit more seriously.
After all the research I did today, I learned quite a few things that I should start doing immediately and I also wrote down my short and long term goals.
Tbh, I'm having a slow season this year at my day job and when it's slow, I can't help but wonder what else I could be doing during that slow period... my blog always seems to pop up. Maintaining and having a blog involve so many things, that I don't even think there's that many possibilities for there to be a slow period, period!
When I am working, I love to be busy. I love to get things done. That feeling of completing something successfully just makes me so happy and it's like I've leveled up. When I'm away from that, I feel unsatisfied and always want to do more.
It's been one of my goals to work on a blog as a career. Also to do things on the side as well. Things I am interested in.
I'm pretty sure I wrote a similiar post in the past, but today was the day I took a lot more time to do more research.
This is what I need to do to get to my goal:
- Get paid hosting/buy a domain name - It's tough not to know my statistics and I can't put Google Analytics on my blog because it's a free blog. :(
- Migrate my blog contents to the paid one
- Do as many quality posts as I can on a variety of topics that I am passionate about
- Gain readers and engagement, and once I do that, I can start reaching out to brands
- In the meantime, take a look at affiliate links, etc.
I want to try this and succeed at it. Reading the blog posts of all these bloggers was truly motivating and showed me that blogging can be a lot of fun, but of course it can be a lot of work! And I like to work, so I feel like I will be able to commit to it.
This means devoting most of my free time to creating content, reaching out, etc... as much as I can do after work hours.
Looking back at my past self, I remember how I was always working so hard to land a full time job, because that's what I wanted to do, and I wanted to get experience. I am so grateful for my day job and the many experiences and skillset it has given me so far, as well as the opportunities for growth that it has provided me. Even though I've developed a steady routine there, I'm always trying to find something new to learn. I will cherish these skills forever. :)
My personality is quite driven and I love to learn new things and to try new things when it comes to my career goals, and this is what I want to try.

Tired T_T
Friday night we had dinner with my family, played with Tofu and went to Mango Mania with some friends. It was their first time going, so it was a good treat for all of us! We were probably there until about after 11pm, which was kind of late. I was soooo sleepy afterwards.
Woke up at around 10am on Saturday and so I didn't have to go out until the evening, so I took the morning/afternoon slow. We played some PS4, and then Dan went out for boardgames with his friends. I did some editing at home and had some lunch. But then I decided to take a short break and ended up napping for like half an hour or so... I was so tired. :( Afterwards, we went to go redeem our Starbucks stars for a venti matcha lemonade, then took photos and got a grilled cheese sandwich for Dan. It was time for me to go get ready to head out with the girls, so we played some PS4 and then Dan dropped me off at Trolley 5.
We wanted patio seating as it was a really nice day out. I grabbed a buzzer and when my friends got here we grabbed some drinks first then got a railing seat on the patio. We ordered mac n cheese with an egg (3 of us) and then our friend ordered a southwest chicken sandwich. I liked the food :)
Afterwards, we walked and talked and I got to get to know more about the girls and meet a new friend. We went to Tutti Frutti, Prestotea (it was pricey but the flavours were so cool!), and then walked around 17th ave for an hour or so. It was after 11 and so we sat down and took a group photo and Dan picked me up. I was so pooped after all that walking, so I didn't get the chance to work on my blog or do editing that evening. We did play a bit of PS4 but went to bed right away since we were so tired.
Today we played some PS4, and headed out to Pet-A-Palooza for a bit to watch the bulldogs race. It was so adorable! They raced on some fake grass haha and ran to their owners as fast as they could. One bulldog ran a bit and then stopped and looked so confused... lol! We then walked around the booths and my friend was their with her shiba, so we petted her shiba for a bit and also grabbed a sample bag Pet Valu was giving out.
After that, we went and got some buns from the asian bakery but unfortunately the buns were not hot at all. :( So we ate the cold one (as we hadn't eaten lunch yet) and then went and bought some grocceries. Played some more PS4, but then we both fell asleep for almost an hour. We're making quinoa salad right now for dinner and I am finishing up my editing for today.
I want to work on my blog but I also want to do some other fun stuff too today. We were also supposed to go workout but not sure if we will now, it's kind of late and I kind of just want to go for a walk outside or go play frisbee. Hmm!!
---
I left the post for a bit so now it's almost 11pm. No workout, and the only blogging I'm doing today is this one... but I thought of a few posts I could do, so I'll draft those and work on them this week.
Going to try to wake up earlier this week!!

It worked!
I used the friendship app and am seeing results! At first it took a while for matches to pop up, but the Sunday after I got my first match.
Unfortunately my match isn't in town anymore but they live close by and are coming back! And I'm hoping we can meet up.
There have been more matches since then. I have been chatting with one other person and started a conversation with someone else. Haven't met anyone though!
There's a lot of progress so far which is what I didn't expect. I'm hoping to meet people who share the same interests.
There's also a YT group I've been a part of on FB. I've never attended the events but they are starting to work on a website, doing collabs with locals and featuring a different artist each week. I want to try meeting them and make new friends and collab. I'm afraid of things getting awkward but a smile and confident thinking has been a great way for me lately when socializing with people!
The weekend is here again and I have quite a few plans with friends and I also need to edit and work on my blog and work on finding other ways of extra income. :) I've been researching for a while but now it's time to start getting things done and see results!

I feel lost?
Lately I have been trying to catch up with friends I haven't seen in a while. Friends I haven't really hung out with in ages.
I'm a conservative person, by that I mean that I generally don't like trying new activities that I haven't done before if they're really out of my comfort zone... like camping, hiking, pretty much anything outdoorsy, etc... I really like watching YouTube, doodling, writing in my bullet journal, gaming, doing makeup, and having a chat over good food/drinks. Ok, I'm really simple and maybe I'm really boring?
I also like to be active (sometimes), like going out for walks, going to the gym... I used to do yoga, but I found the beginner classes a bit mentally exhausting and I didn't feel comfortable increasing the difficulty level, because I can't hold poses for very long (I suck at balancing).
And where is this all going? After catching up with friends I haven't seen in a while, I've realized that they have become different people, explored new things and are overall more experienced in other things than I am, since we have become friends. I also feel like I don't have too much in common with some friends anymore... and to be honest, sometimes I find it difficult to message people and ask to hang out. :( I'm really afraid of things getting awkward, or me not having anything to talk about.
I usually ask a lot of questions so that I can get the other person talking, but there are times where I want to talk about what I'm doing too. And only are there some friends who ask about me... or are willing to listen.
Social interaction has always been something that was a challenge for me.
And well I miss that feeling of people able to talk about anything and similar interests with people.
There are apps out there that can help you find new friends. A friend of mine tried it, and hangs out quite often with someone they've met on there. It's pretty great for people who have just moved to a new place and are looking for friends.
I'm eager to try the app... I want to find someone who's like me, but also adventurous too! There are some things I'd like to do more of (like karaoking, trying fun events, etc.) so hopefully I can find a good match!
It's kind of like making online friends, but you're meeting in real life. Ahhh, I remember those days where it was all online interaction and I made some pretty cool friends. Never met them in person though. I wonder what it would be like if we did meet in person??
So yeah, I feel a bit lost...
I finished a blog post today and shared it on social media, I also watched some anime, YouTube videos and am currently doing some laundry. I went for ramen with a friend today and it's just before 8pm right now but I kind of want to go out. Most of my friends are quite busy though... lol. So I might just make dinner, sit back and relax and try this app.

Stampede!
On Friday I had another half day. After work I went to 1886 with a friend for some lunch. I had an Ed's Benedict with gouda cheese and tomatoes, it was really good! Then I went to Starbucks after my friend had to go back to work, and I got the free tall size of their newest tea infusions. I got the pineapple black tea and it was interesting. Not too sweet but it also didn't have too much flavour, so I'd like to try it with the lemonade sometime. Afterwards, I went to spend time with my family and to welcome Tofu back home from the hospital. He was so happy to be home. :) It was so great to see he is getting better.
We went for a walk after and decided to head to Inglewood. We didn't know the night market was taking place, as we wanted to go to Rosso to buy some coffee beans since we were running out. We decided to check out the night market first and then we went and got our coffee beans. We also bought some chickpeas and chips so that I can make some hummus!
Saturday was all Stampede-fun! We got up in the morning and went for another Stampede Breakfast. We went much later than last time and wow, the line was really long. We had to get meal tickets first and then we stood in line for about 20 minutes or so. The pancakes were delicious and they also came with bacon and hashbrowns. We walked back with the breakfast as they didn't have any more forks available, and eating with our hands would've made things quite sticky because of the maple syrup. Afterwards, we went home for a short break and then headed to the Stampede. We watched the canine dog bowl show first, then went to watch a bit of the acrodunk performance and then we raided the midway food and BMO centre vendors. We tried the donut chata (mini donut popsicle with rice milk drink, cinnamon toast crunch cereals, toffee pieces and a ton of dripping caramel) and Mr. Crab (tempura shrimp, crab, and tempura bed of rice with nori). Then we went and watched the motorcross show, checked out the wine garden and then hung out with a friend and their friend for a bit. We wanted to go to Nashville North to go see our friend who was working there, but the line was SO long... so we couldn't go. Since we were there for a few hours already, we headed home just before 10pm but got some mini donuts before then. We ate the mini donuts at home after and played some PS4.
Today we were going to go to the zoo, but I was just so sore and exhausted from yesterday's Stampede festivities. So it was a chill day today. I did laundry, cleaned the floors, cooked us dinner and did some dishes. I also edited a little bit to minimize my workload tomorrow and well we thought we were going to have friends over on Tuesday, and so I wanted to have all my editing done before then, but it looks like there are some who aren't available that day, so we'll be having people over later in the week. We went grocery shopping today, had homemade mango, banana & peanut butter (for that kick) smoothies and played more PS4. It was surprisingly very chilly after our shopping trip and the hazy smoke made it's way into the air, the smell was strong. :(
I think this weekend was quite productive as well. I got a lot of chores done and also had lots of fun!
I was thinking about my weekday schedule throughout the summer. It varies so much and since I napped way too much this past week, I really need to plan out this week a bit better.
There's still quite a bit of cleaning to do, so I'm going to make some time to do that on Tuesday. We also need to workout, so we will workout tomorrow.
I also realized that it sucks waking up last minute. But this is only because I go to sleep pretty late nowadays. It's 11:05pm right now and so I'm going to hit the hay soon. I'm going to make it a routine to sleep a bit earlier since I want to wake up earlier and have some chill time before I head to work. I want to make my breakfast, maybe make my lunch too (I don't really like making it the night before, but I've skipped bringing in my lunch for a few weeks now, so I need to get back into the habit) and just relax for a bit. Then it feels like the day is a bit longer but also more productive.
Cooking is another thing to do again. I don't think we cooked anything last week... We did make rice bowls but that's not really cooking, haha. We also had leftovers from family dinners as well and then went and grabbed food when our friends were over. Time to cook more this week! Quinoa salad sounds really good and I have been meaning to make an apple pie as well.
I should also start bringing more snacks to work. I find that when it's a slow day I get hungry much easier because my mind is trying to fill in the slow gaps throughout the day by doing something productive... eating. And so I got some chocolate raisins to munch on, and should snack on some apples and we also got pita bread, so I could bringing in some jam or peanut butter to snack on as well.
I've also been getting pretty lazy with putting on makeup, but that should stop once I start waking up earlier in the day. Anyway, time to hit the sack!

Productive Weekend
Friday - I had the morning off because the parade was happening and so I spent it working on my bujo, watching YouTube, having breakfast, relaxing and took some time to do my makeup for work.
I then went to work, and the work day breezed by! In the evening we went to Prohibition and caught up with a friend and enjoyed their rooftop patio. The weather was perfect! Not too hot during the early evening and not too cold later that night.
Saturday - We got up early and watched Spiderman: Homecoming for a volunteer appreciation event, went shopping and also went cheese and meat shopping as we had fondue later that night with some friends. It was great!! Never made our own fondue cheese before, so we can definitely say it was a success for our first time and we were so full afterwards. We also made bubbletea with friends too.
Sunday - We slept in a little bit more than Saturday and then went to a free Stampede pancake breakfast. We each had two pancakes and I also got a sausage. It was soooo good! I loved how fluffy the pancakes were. I think I'm addicted to pancakes now, I want to try a bunch more Stampede breakfasts this week. Maybe I can have an earlier lunch hour this week ha ha and try a few! There's also another one happening next weekend, too.
We then went to the park and I watched Dan play Ultimate Frisbee with our friends It was quite fun watching them, I wanted to play afterwards! I did some laundry and cleaning after.
Back to my weekday routine soon. I need to figure out what my next blog post will be about. I posted a summer essentials one the other day, and now I am thinking of putting up another product review, or maybe a lookbook...? Hmmm....
Going to try to cook more this week too. After having our own fondue, it has inspired me to try out more things!

Canada's 150
I am still technically on my long weekend. I have today off as well for some repairs to our place. And in between supervising and checking that repairs were made, I'm using today to be productive even though I'm not at work. I have to edit today, take some photos for my blog, maybe make a pie and start planning out how I will work towards some new goals I've been thinking of/have been thinking of for a while...
Anyway... my weekend recap:
Friday - Went to Stage West with my colleague and our plus ones to watch Murder for Two and to eat as much as possible from the buffet. Food was great as always, and the show was interesting! Two actors and one guy plays most of the characters.
Saturday - Canada Day! Went for dim sum with friends at Central Grand Restaurant and then went to Made by Marcus. We got the nanaimo bar flavour along with a half scoop of the espresso ice cream. Sooooo good! The Nanaimo bar flavour tasted like bbq, but the espresso reminded me of my childhood days and tasted very similar to this coffee candy I used to eat all the time (X.O??) when I was little. We did go to Chinook to buy some shampoo and then we tried to go to A Mart to grab some matcha butter, but it was closed. Then the car's exhaust pipe started making loud noises because of a loose part... so we drove back home and then pretty much stayed home all day. We also watched the fireworks!
Sunday - Dan played some Frisbee with friends and then we all headed out for some bubbletea at Bubblemania. I was doing chores and felt lazy that day so I didn't play Frisbee, but enjoyed my drink, "Goldrush" at Bubblemania. Mmm apple, lychee and pineapple go SO well together! Our friend drove us there and back and that was really nice of him! We then went for a walk afterwards and just chilled at home and played games.
Monday - We were going to go for a walk in Inglewood but things changed. With the car still out, there wasn't any places open for us to take it in, but then my brother called me and told me that they had found a swollen lump in Tofu's throat. Now this is really scary because he's never been sick before and when I was hearing it over the phone it didn't sound like it was as big... but then I felt it for myself in person and it's almost like a big grape. We took the car to Kal Tire which was able to fix the exhaust, and we also went to the vet hospital to accompany Tofu on his visit. He didn't want to go into the vet room, but we had to know what was going on. They did some tests and will be sending the results to the lab. I really hope he's alright. I actually couldn't sleep for most of last night, my worriedness started to kick-in... and my parents didn't sleep much the night before either. Tofu will be okay!! The vet gave us some medicine (eye drops for his swollen eyes, antibiotics and some medicine for his fever) so the swelling should go down soon.
This brings me to the thoughts I've had this weekend about my goals...
I want to be happy with what I do, but I also want to be financially stable too.
Calgary is a tough city to live in nowadays because our economy has taken a hit and it's really tough finding something that can provide the support that you need to live here. It's also tough when what you find isn't necessarily something you enjoy doing, but it's all there is right now until things get better.
I have a goal of working for multiple contracts, instead of just a full-time job, so that I can have control over what my projects are and my income. But that would take some experience and also things like that don't happen overnight. It takes time, and what I am doing now takes that into account.
This is why after a 3 month hiatus I've come back to my blog and started blogging again. This is why I started taking my bujo more seriously as well. Ever since I opened some pins on Pinterest, my bujo hasn't been bland and boring. It's colourful and has so much meaning and it helps me organize my goals and the things I need to do.
It's almost been a whole year since I've been in this weird creativity block... I had spurts of videos and blogs here and there throughout the year, but then I just took a huge break. I think because it's more like 'work' it's not really motivating me. So right now I want to focus on my interests... like playing games again, studying Japanese, colouring and reading... just small, simple things that would get me going and motivated again.
Then I can focus on achieving my goals. Also, I need to create a page for my goals in my bujo soon... it'll help me map out how exactly I accomplish those goals.
So that's why today I am being productive instead of just sitting and waiting.

Make A Wish
Friday - I had dinner with my family and just chilled at home. We had some tea and walked around a bit. Pretty low key! There might be more, but that's all I really remember... I think I worked on my bujo for a bit though!
Saturday - Not much went on this day either. We played games and then I went out to the new LDXpress downtown and bought a bunch of Kettle brand chips that were on sale. NYX makeup is currently 20% off until the 28th, so I decided to get a brow gel in Espresso. I think I might get more NYX makeup this week... We also went to Via Cibo for a cheaper dinner date out. Yumm!
Sunday - We volunteered for Make A Wish at a Hollywood style party for a wish recipient. We filmed the event and I covered the audio portion. I hope she had an awesome time! Afterwards, we decided to head to the university to grab some subs as a nostalgia date night... the sub I had was okay... I got the spolumbo chicken apple sausage, but it wasn't as great as the other subs I would usually get. Discovered there is a Carls Jr. now too... oh my how it's grown since our student days there. We then did some grocery shopping and then called it a day.
So yeah, very low-key weekends so far, but I don't mind staying in and playing games... especially when it's so HOT outside.
I'm so thankful for air conditioning...

BBQ + New Hair Colour
On Friday evening we had a BBQ event with friends to celebrate our friend's birthday. We rent out our lounge and had some food and played games all night long until 2am.
Saturday was a bit more low-key, I went to my hair stylist and got a colour change. I now have Medium Ash Brown hair, but it some lighting it looks like a dirty blond, kinda cool how multicoloured it can be! It took about 4.5 hours out of my day, and after commuting home, I was super famished as I didn't eat lunch before. We went to Shiraz for some Persian cuisine, but it was too salty for me.. :( The first few bites were so delicious though, but the salt really got to me.
Sunday was a quiet day as well. We went to my parents' to have lunch for Father's Day, then we went to Costco and then we just chilled at home. We were exhausted from the weekend.
So I pretty much have my site all done and all, but I need to add a bit more to it. Working on trying to secure some new clients right now... and also on some more YouTube and blog ideas. I see a lot of clothing and makeup hauls in the near future!

Low-key
I didn't do too many things before the weekend, just chilled at home. I had a headache on Thursday after coming home from work, and so I tok a small nap and then we went to get pizza from Blaze Pizza. It was POURING outside, and by the parking lot there was a huge water pit. Then we headed to Safeway to buy some breakfast foods and chips. It was spitting at that time and then after we got outside it started pouring again.
On Friday I felt much better but I felt irritation in my throat. I thought it might have been because I ate too many fried foods that week for breakfast (haven't been waking up early enough to eat/pack breakfast at home :( I gotta improve on that!) and it shortly went away. We ate dinner with my family and played with Tofu for a bit and headed home.
On Saturday a friend came over for a bit and we played a boardgame, I think it was called Thieves Market? After playing, our friend went home and then we headed to the mall. I wanted to get a few things from Suzy Shier, but unfortunately my sizes weren't available and the items didn't look as good as they did online... haha, so I didn't get anything from there, but I got a few items from H&M. H&M clothing are always a hit or miss for me because of the sizing. It'll say the size is this, but then it doesn't fit, or it's too big.... it's not very standardized like other clothing brands, and I'm the kind of person who doesn't like trying things on in the store (taking too long)... which is why I love return policies. I got a cardigan, overalls and a spaghetti strap dress for layering. The dress is kind of big at the bottom, but it fits my waist perfectly, and I'm still trying to figure out the overalls. The cardigan might be too big? But I have to try it on with no sleeves... After shopping, we went to Mari bakeshop for some tea and choux pastries. Sooo good! I really enjoyed my English Rose tea. We then made pasta for dinner.
Sunday was gardening day. Before we tended to our plots, we went to grab coffee at Starbucks and then I bought some chapstick. We then discovered our garden plot was overflown by spearmint... so we spent a good two hours digging out all the roots and plating our dill and radish seeds. :) They should be good to harvest in about a week or so, so we're really excited! It was getting late and I felt an irritated throat again, so I wanted soup. We went to Korean Village for some soup, side dishes and rice, and my throat felt a bit better.
This week is going to be a packed one. Tonight I have dinner + editing, then tomorrow we have to film, and on Wednesday I have a fam night with work at a restaurant. Thursday might be a boardgame night/might be hanging out with my friend and then Friday we're going to a BBQ. Saturday is looking free right now, and Sunday is Father's Day :)
I've lost motivation to work on my website and other projects. I think it's this summer feeling. The weather has been so nice lately that all I want to do is go out and enjoy the sun and have fun with friends... but I got to think of what my goals are too. After dinner on Wednesday I'll try to do a little bit!

Summer Fun
On Thursday night I went out for some ramen with my friend at Goro + Gun. The ramen was good, but not the best I've had. I quite enjoyed our little girls night though. We chatted lots about life, boyfriends, things we're doing to stay fun, etc.. I love catching up with friends :)
On Friday night we took Tofu out to the park and had dinner with my family. We didn't go out after except to buy groceries and just chilled at home. Saturday was packed with a lot of activities. I went to see a choir performance with my friend in the afternoon, then went for YYC Burger Battle at Hayden Block for dinner with another friend and the boyfriend, and then we went to Scrollio for icecream with another friend and finished the day with some Waves Coffee.
Yesterday we went to the Lilac Festival and I took a long nap afterwards. It was a relaxing and eventful weekend. :) Now I just got to think about making plans for the weekdays this week... hmmm.
I also worked on my blog yesterday. Need to take some product photos and then I will be ready to post that. :) Will probably draft another post on another product later on. I also have a bunch of books to read that I got from the library for my e-book reader. I'm having some difficulty transferring them over for some reason... so it looks like I'll have to read them on my computer for a bit... summer reading, goooo! :)

Evening Change Up
But y'know what, it's summer now and so I feel like the days are feeling longer, and so I'm going to make the resolution to have plans for most of my weeknights! I've always just lounged around and watched stuff, or napped after work... Recently in the last few weeks I have been going out pretty often in the evening either with work or with my friends. And so by making these plans, I'll have lots to look forward to :)
On Mondays & Tuesdays I already have plans, which is usually editing. Today was different, I still had editing to do (I've finished half), but I played with Tofu, spent time with my family, got popcorn and chilled with our friend for a bit. Oh, and I also took a stroll to the post office to pick up my makeup order. I've been waiting for it for three weeks, so I'm pretty excited to try out my new makeup! So my Monday evening flew by after all these plans, which is cool.
Tomorrow I'm going to be finishing up my editing, but we'll also head over to Express to get some items that are on sale. I hope that includes sunglasses. I've been meaning to get a pair, but it's really hard to find sunglasses that suit my face. I tried some on at Express before and I think I've found the ones that I think I look good in. :)
I don't have anything planned for Wednesday, but I'll probably take that time to either clean up the garden plots or hit the gym and possibly work on a blog post/my website. Thursday, I'm meeting up with a friend for some ramen, then it's the weekend after!!!
So I'm doing pretty well for plans for this week's weeknights. :)
Next week, on the other hand, I'll have to plan something for Tues - Thurs. The thing is, I also want to save as well. Going out means spending money T_T, so I'll have to plan to work on things for those evenings.
Alrighty, it's almost 11pm and so I should be going to sleep soon. I was so tired this morning but had some coffee and that kept me up for the entire day. Usually I make my lunch at this hour, but I've got spring rolls defrosting in the fridge right now, and a bag of apple slices to take tomorrow. Yum!

Just chillin'
I didn't do anything related to updating my blog or website. Actually, Thursday, we did have friends over and played board games. Chicken Ceaser and Celestia. We also went to 7-11 to pick up some chicken and tacquitos for dinner. The tacquitos are so good. Yum.
I wasn't feeling so great on Friday night after work, and barely got sleep the night before, so I spent 4 hours napping, and then we started watching Terrace House on Netflix. It's kind of like a Japanese version of Big Brother, but it's about a bunch of people who live in a sharehouse and we get to see how they interact, both inside and outside of the house.
On Saturday I had to film and I also spent some time with my family and Tofu. Dan had kickboxing and so after our separate events we went home and watched more Terrace House, then went out for dinner and ice cream with some friends. We went for thai food for our friend's birthday dinner, at Khao San Thai and also had some thai iced tea there, it was sooo good! I wish I could've taken a batch of it home, haha. We then went to this new rolled up icecream place called, Scrollio. Dan and I shared one with macademia nuts, caramel sauce and sea salt. It was pretty good. The ice cream was hard and it was kinda too salty? But we quite enjoyed it. Afterwards, we walked and talked along 17th ave and called it a day around 10pm. Watched more Terrace House after and then fell asleep around 1am.
Today we cleaned the house and went to Original Joes for some food and chats with friends. Dan's friend is in town so we caught up with them and now the guys are playing board games while I do my own thing. They're doing Picnic in the Park outside right now, so I might go check it out in the next few minutes before it closes. But there's an admission fee... just to go to food trucks... so I'm kind of on the fence here.
I finished prepping for my work week, and cleaning most stuff, so now I'm just thinking of what else to do today. I kind of want to go outside for another walk, but I also want to watch YouTube videos or play games, or colour. I don't feel like working on my website stuff right now, but I think I said last week that the weekend was going to be the time that I would use to work on it... ahhhhh. It's Sunday, so I feel quite lazy and more inclined to do fun stuff because I have to go to work tomorrow.
It's 5:30pm right now and although a few hours ago we just had lunch, I am starting to feel hungry! I wonder if we'll go out to grab something for dinner... hmmmmm....

Victoria Day Long Weekend
I'm kinda not exhausted but sort of exhausted from this WHOLE week. Omg. I was really busy at work this week and after work almost everyday I had plans for the evening. Tuesday was my only free night to just chill at home, which was nice. :)
Wednesday we had a work after hours thing to chill with our newest team member. On Thursday, I hung out with my friend at Diner Deluxe and we caught up with some breakfast items for dinner. Friday night we took Tofu to the park and had dinner with my family.
On Saturday, we went grocery shopping and bought some seeds, and de-weeded half our garden plots. We then played Yedo with a couple of friends and then called it a night. Dan had kick-boxing earlier in the day, so he did that and I stayed home, we got some icecream afterwards at the market. :)
Sunday was another big day. It's quite funny because I planned for a very low-key weekend this week, to just sit back and relax while I regenerate my energy from a long week at work/evening plans. But nope, it was a super eventful weekend. Anyway... yesterday we went to Red's Diner and had brunch with our friends, talked lots, then went to the National Music Centre. I had a 20% coupon from Calgary Attractions, so it was great to get a discount for our first visit. There was a lot to see and a lot of cool instruments to try and listen to. It was fun but we went there a little late and felt very rushed towards the end of our visit. There were 5 floors to check out and on average each floor was about 30 - 45 minutes to get through. If they have newer exhibits, I'd want to go again. Afterwards, we came home and ate dinner, had a quick nap and then went out for karaoke with my friends for a bit. After karaoke, our other friends asked to go to Hexagon Boardgame Cafe, but as it was closed at 11pm (it was already 9:30pm), we just invited them over to play at our place. We played Hanabi and big 2 (Japanese style) and played way too long into the night... didn't go to sleep until 3am!!
Today we took it a bit more chill. Bought a screwdriver and step-ladder to fix our vent, made some colourful bowls for late lunch, and had dinner with my family. I should really be outside enjoying the outdoors a little more, but yikes it's 9PM right now. We also took a nap too since we were both very tired from yesterday.
I should be editing right now, but I might leave that to tomorrow...
It'll be a more chill week this week. We have evening plans on Wednesday so far, so I'll use the other evenings to work on my website, blog and other stuff. Yup. Gotta stop procrastinating.
