So today I thought we would be going out to do stuff... but turns out we just stayed home just like every other day previously. haha. My mom and sis went out to buy more grocceries, though.
I woke up at around 3pm and took a shower, brushed my teeth, and waited to Skype with my bf. Decided to go eat some banh xeo (vietnamese pancake) while waiting. Went on Skype and chatted for a few hours. Then I watched the live action drama of Ouran Highschool Host Club, that was fun to watch. Too bad there was only three episodes. T_T I'm eager to watch the fourth one and more!
I've already packed most of my stuff. I just need to pack my laptop, charger, blankets, and some minor items before we get going.
I was also able to access my timesheet for work, today. Made me happy since I need to report my hours I've worked before the deadline. Pay cheque comes in soon. :)
Also managed to stop my polyphasic sleep. I just stay up later instead of napping... and I fall asleep and wake up at a reasonable time (I woke up earlier at 11am, but decided to sleep in until 3pm today).

Kelowna: Day 9
Amggg Day 9! So today I had to wake up super early... woke up at 6:45am, didn't take a shower since I thought we were going within 15 minutes to leave at 7am... so I only put on my BB cream and some bronzer/blush and filled in my eyebrows. We didn't leave the house until 9 or 10. -_- Sigh. Lmao. So here I am, stinkier by a day... but you can't smell me so it doesn't apply to this post!
We headed over to Omak, WA. Lots of shopping was done at JC Penny, Payless Shoesource, Dollar Tree, and Wal-Mart. I ended up buying a gift for my bf, and my family bought a bunch of grocceries, shoes, and random clothes and some stuff for the house. I also bought some Crunch chocolate in the 'bunch' form and sped-ate it while shopping in the shoe store. Wal-Mart was pretty fun to look through because it was just so freaking gigantic! I ran over to the school supply section to try to find a combination lock for my locker (the dollar store's combo locks had too short of a rung) but they didn't have any... guess they were all sold out? I also headed over to the beauty aisle to find products we don't have here in Canada. I found a few, but the weird thing was... they didn't have 'testers' for their products, so I had no idea how the color would look if I swatched it on my hand. Meh.
I also looked at this dry shampoo I've been wanting since the other day I saw a commercial for it. It was about 3 or 4 dollars US, but I didn't need it that badly to go buy it. Maybe I'll purchase it within this week when I feel like it. o_o
We drove back home and on the way back I kept falling asleep. We made a few stops to pick up some fruits that were picked off the trees. We got home and found a watery mess on the kitchen floor left by my niece and her friend(s). Ah, teens...
I watched a drama episode and now I'm getting ready to head to bed. It's kind of early to be sleeping... it's only 11pm and no one in this house really sleeps until 2am or 1am.. lol.
Tomorrow I think we're going to go to the park. Hopefully I can get something for myself since I haven't really bought anything for myself on this trip whenever I got the chance to. XD Buying gifts is easier.

Kelowna: Day 8
We didn't end up going bowling today... I could have gone groccery shopping again, but I slept in past noon as my mom and sister were getting ready to head out. Woke up a bit later at 3pm, had some salad rolls and played with the dogs as usual.
I plucked basil and mint leaves for dinner. A lot of people came over to try Pho and have salad rolls. One of them brought over their dog... not sure what breed it was though. My sister's dog and my dog kept barking at the other dog... had to tell them to keep it down but my sister's dog was really angry lol.
We didn't go anywhere after dinner. I'm actually waiting a few more hours to head to sleep, since tomorrow we have to get up at 7am to head to the states. Random road trip much? We're going to do some window shopping I suppose. Maybe I can get something cool. I'm currently charging up the 3DS so I won't be bored since the dogs won't be coming with us, so gotta occupy my time with an alternative.
I found out that my t-shirt for my employer made it to him, and that his reimbursement also made it back. :) Now I'll have less to pay off my bills :) He picked up the t-shirt yesterday and then the reimbursement arrived today. I think maybe my text messages were a bit too much? I sent him one two days ago to let him know, and he didn't even reply. But the tracking number told me that he picked it up the day after I sent him a message. Maybe he just needed some time to go to the post office, or he really didn't know the noticed arrived. Blah, oh well. Doesn't seem like he's mad or anything so I'll just leave it at that.

Kelowna: Day 7
Wow it's been a week already!!
Today I woke up earlier than usual.. about noon time to wake up and have some spaghetti. :) We decided to head out to the mall today to do some shopping. The mall we went to really doesn't have a lot to offer but we took a look at a few stores and ended up buying clothes for my niece and for my cousin. Then we headed back home to have an early dinner.
For dinner we had rice with satay chicken, some egg, and some vegetables. My niece had to babysit again so we waited for the child to come over. Then we headed over to the carshow but as soon as we got there it started to rain. The car show was in a parking lot... yeah, very wise move. Haha. We huddled underneath a sales tent for a few minutes. Then the storm got crazier and wind started blowing the tent here and there. We decided to get inside the car and go home.
I went on the computer for a bit and hung out with the dogs. Really sleepy right now but I'm in a meeting on Skype. *yawn*
I think we're going to go bowling or to the park tomorrow or go see salmon birth.. ahh, I have no idea.

Kelowna: Day 6
Sleeping last night and the night before wasn't very great. I've been doing some polyphasic sleep and I don't like it one bit. I wake up way too late in the afternoons. =\
Today I didn't really do anything. We ended up not going shopping. I had some fried shrimp, wonton soup, and some cookies and an icecream sandwich. Played with the dogs for a bit... and mostly just went on the computer all day.
This morning my boyfriend texted me telling me he had come back from his vacation. I was excited but he was really tired so he decided to take a nap. After his nap we just talked on Skype for a few hours about our vacations. It was fun. :)
Also had a visitor today. My niece was babysitting this little boy so while she was doing that I had to hangout with my dog for a bit to calm him down. Every new visitor is just too much excitement for him and he can get carried away.. after an hour or so he calmed down and the little boy was very obedient and didn't stick his hand out. My dog sniffed him and all was fine. :)
Tomorrow we're supposed to go do some shopping! I'm excited, haven't shopped in a while... like, legit shop... all I've done was window shop haha or buy really small things. We'll see if I want to pick up anything or not. Maybe I'll get a new bag. Kinda been wanting one for a while now. We'll also go to a carshow later on. I've never gone to one before. Wonder if I'll see import car models... :O

Kelowna: Day 5
So I realized my blog posts about this trip are not very detailed at all. I write them right before I go to sleep (youtube video watching) so I don't really feel too obliged to make a detail post. But then I read over them and to me, they just look repetitive and simple. So.. from now on I will write more detailed posts, starting with this one!
Today I got up at 2pm. I was actually awake around 9am or 10am before that... since everyone wakes up pretty early here and two people who were staying over were leaving to go home today. I could hear everyone's voices here and there... I just stayed in bed and tried to sleep for a few more hours. Eventually I fell asleep and woke up once again around noon to hear someone had come for a visit. Then I went back to sleep... and woke up later.
I woke up and was greeted by our visitor, I said hello and asked her how she was. She told me she was good so after our little chat, I went to grab my items so I could get ready for a new day.
I think the longest part of my morning routine is blow drying my hair. I used to use one of our visitor's hairdryer's... because I thought it was my sister's, but it wasn't. And then our visitor went home with her hairdryer, so today I had to ask my sister for one. Anyway, the reason why blow-drying my hair is such a long task is because the one I used before was kind of weak. The one I used today was more powerful. I would say it takes about 5 - 7 minutes for my hair to dry... not completely, though. That would take too long. Actually, 5 - 7 minutes is what it feels like it takes... it's probably only 3 minutes, but I have no idea since there's no clock in the washroom or anything.
I finished my morning routine and headed out of the bathroom. Ate some of the cookies our visitor brought us, and had a chat with our visitor. She asked me about school and such, and told me about her child who is also going to school. I also went on the computer for a bit to check on job postings for fun, and then I went on FB for a bit. Mom told me to go get ready to go shopping so I went to get ready.
We headed over to my brother-in-law's shop. I found my niece and greeted her. She was with her friend so they didn't really pay much attention to my presence. My niece stayed at the shop with her dad, and so we headed off to Superstore to go buy some groceries for dinner tonight and for future meals.
Superstore was giant... for some reason I think it's more giant than the Superstore back home, but whatever. The colors of the store weren't green like at home, but they were blue/white/red. Interesting...
We walked around and picked up some meat, vegetables, some bread, and a few fruits. I was too fixated on the bakery aisle with all the pre-packaged cheesecakes in President's Choice boxes and the freshly baked in-store cakes... last year my family would purchase strawberry cheesecake from wal-mart every 2 or 3 days.. haha, and we would eat a piece everyday or so (well I did). I don't think we'll be getting cheesecake this time though... or maybe we will at the end of the trip?
Went to checkout and paid for our stuff. Mom bought a scratch lottery ticket thing.
For dinner we had some nice hot bowls of Pho. I also had some more of the fresh apple juice from the other day. There's half a milk jug of it left... I hope it doesn't go bad soon. It's really good!
Didn't do much for the rest of the night. MSN-ing.. and the usual. :)

Kelowna: Day 4
Today was another stay-at-home day. I woke up at around 2 or 3pm and had some congee and chicken salad with the grown-ups. :P Played with the dogs for a bit afterwards and did some studying for work as well as chatting with friends online.
Ate some salad rolls and then munched on some cracker peanuts, realized they had saturated fats in them so I stopped eating them. I watched a few youtube videos for makeup (It's been a long time since I tried to wear colors while going out) and then fell asleep. Woke up to go brush my teeth for bed, but then found out some pizza was brought home so I had two slices of that.
Writing in bed right now. Going to talk with a friend for a bit and then watch more youtube videos. Not sure what we will be doing this week... drag racing is only on weekends so I think we will have some family outings this week. Probably going to the mall or to the park. Hmm...

Kelowna: Day 3
I slept in again, but this time only until 12. Had to get up so we could go to the race track to watch some drag racing. The cars were really loud! We stayed for a few hours and then headed back home.
I was really exhausted so I ate a quick dinner consisting of meatballs, lettuce/cucumber, and noodles stirred in with nuoc mam. Also had some freshly made apple juice a friend gave us earlier. It didn't taste like the traditional apple juice you find in stores! Naturally sweet, it was really good.
I watched some asian dramas and then took a short nap for a few hours. Woke up to answer the door, and washed my makeup off and brushed my teeth. I'm sitting here now wondering what to do for a few hours. Hmm...

Kelowna: Day 2
Didn't do too much today. Woke up at 8am, to loud voices, and then looked at my texts from my boyfriend. He went to the states for a bit with friends so he was updating me before he went on his flight. Then I went back to sleep. Found another text from him. Then I slept again.. but more interruptions came as people were making their way in and out of the room I am sleeping in. Eventually I decided to wake up at 4:30pm. It felt good to sleep in for once!
After that I just ate, played with my dog (he was really sad today since my sister and her dog went out all day), and went on the computer to chat with friends and watch dramas. It's 2AM right now so I probably should get to sleep soon. We're going to go out tomorrow with the dogs and the family.
Right now I'm craving fried rice. I was watching a cooking drama... so that's why. >_< I should learn how to make fried rice so I can cook it when I crave it. :)

Kelowna: Day 1
I was going to make a separate blog for my traveling diary... but realized I have way too many blogs anyway, so I thought I would just post it here.
8 hour road trip across the border and here we are, in Kelowna. Took me a long time to gain access to the internet, since it had a weird filter on it that wouldn't allow us to sign in, despite us having the password to gain access. Managed to fix it by logging into the router settings and changing the max users to a greater number. I can't believe that took me 3 hours to figure out... but it was worth it. :)
I had some banana tapioca dessert. Time for some sleep.

Cucina Hand Cream
I actually bought something while shopping today. Cucina Hand Cream in coriander and olive tree!
I have been wanting this hand cream for a really long time. A few years ago I worked at a job that was in one of those high-end washrooms... and at the sinks, they had a nice big jar of this lotion that people would use right after they washed their hands. We would also use it while working, and it was just such an amazing lotion. I had really dry skin back then, so this would always do the trick. Fruits & Passion had a 50% off sale today on all their merch. I went to an outlet store so they didn't have the big jar available for this type, but I was able to get this 40ml size for only $2.50. Good deal. :) The only thing that bugs me about this is that there's so much air when you squeeze so the pressure makes a huge glob come out... I need to be more careful, as using too much makes me a little itchy.
Nostalgia
Decided to clean my room today. Well, one side of it at least. My main goal was to create some space and also give the room a more polished appearance. I took my reusable bag and started digging through the massive amounts of paper stored inside. Tons of post-secondary school work, with some high school work as well. A lot of memories came about...
I have tons of papers from my Japanese courses. I still have a script of a presentation I did with my first university friend/Japanese course friend. The presentation was fun and we did well. I didn't keep up with her much since she didn't really attend class... but I still keep up with her from time to time online. I also found a script that I presented with my boyfriend. We did alright on the presentation, as it was a higher level course... but it was fun nonetheless. I told him that I had found it, and we agreed to act it out again sometime. :)
I also found some not-so-good grades, etc. I didn't bother to put those in the recycling bag though. Tossed them right into the keep bin. :) There were a lot of notes that I decided to put into recycling, as well as research materials, etc. I think I have way too much paper from schoolwork that I could definitely do something big with it if I recycled it all. But the memories kept coming...
I feel so nostalgic now. Just a few years ago I entered post-secondary, attending my first year. Then, onto my second year... and then third, now fourth. So many years have passed by, but the memories have been kept. I also have some work from high school subjects. Cards from friends, gifts, etc... and even notebooks that I knew existed in my room but had no idea where they were located.
I miss attending the same school as my friends. But I also love making new friends and learning with new friends. I also try to keep in contact with them. It's a challenge sometimes, but it does work.

Boredom
I recently finished a drama series called "Moteki" which is about a guy who suddenly becomes popular with girls he's known years ago. It was a good drama, had its ups and downs, and ended really awkwardly, but it somehow satisfied me. Now with that finished, I don't know what I should do to entertain myself. I could watch another drama, but I think I've been sitting in front of the computer for long today. I'm surprised I haven't gotten eyestrain from it.
I think I'll pick up some reading material soon. I don't think I have an up-to-date library card for the public library at the moment, which is too bad since I'd love to read some e-books on my free time.
I really don't know what this post is getting at... I just needed to do something before bed at least. Something that actually requires thinking and participating, rather than sitting, watching, and eating.
Later today I'll be hanging out with a friend. I'm looking forward to that. Window shopping is fun!

A call, and birthday dinner
Today as I was getting ready to go out for a friend's birthday dinner, I received a call. Unfortunately I was eating just before the call and happened to drop my chopstick on the floor... so I tried to get to the kitchen but heard my phone ring.. tried to pick it up, but missed the call. Glad I have caller ID! Checked the number and the number was from an employer (but I didn't know who). So I looked it up and realized it was such a random company to call me... but then when I called them, they said they had a resume on file. Just then, I remembered, that I had applied for this company MONTHS ago... and I thought they already found someone since the ad said the position would be filed once they found the right candidate. At that moment of the call, I thought, "Why would they call me months after?" They asked me if I was still interested, but I informed them that I had accepted another offer. I thanked them for giving me the opportunity and we hung up.
The reason why I declined was because I was pretty sure this was a position that was only during Mon - Fri, and I probably have to do at least 2 or 3 shifts. I wouldn't be able to do that while I'm in school, so I had to decline. The job I have right now is more flexible and has weekend shifts that I can do.
After writing this... I realized one possible reason for them calling me was probably because the person they hired (at the time that ad was posted), probably is going to quit, or has already quit. Or perhaps they only needed people for the upcoming school year... I have no idea, but why would they put up an ad months in advanced for that? o.o
Anyway, shortly before that call I got a call from work asking me to come in for a closing shift instead. Yay, I'll learn how to close! XD
After the calls, I got ready and headed out to my friend's birthday dinner. We went to Olive Garden and the food was delicious! I love their breadsticks as well, and love how each entree comes with a big serving of salad too! Our friend opened up his gifts and we had the waiter bring out the cake I bought for him. He was really happy that he got a cake this year, since he had wanted one for 10 years! I'm glad I was able to make one of his dreams/goals come true. :)
My tummy was so full after our meal so we ended up just walking it off. The boys went to go venture some at the mall, and the girls decided to go home. We were tired, full, but satisfied.
Now I need to pay bills. Too much was spent this entire week. ><

Employed!
The interviewer got back to me and I was given a job offer. I accepted. Signed the papers already and got my uniform. Training is next week. I'm excited. However I am still job hunting haha... and now I'm finding some jobs already that I want to apply for, but I'm not too sure since I probably won't be able to do two jobs during school. I could only do two jobs before school starts... but I don't think it would be very favourable if I ended up quitting one over the other. :S
I think I'll go with this position for a year and then we'll see if I need to job hunt for another job. I will be graduating soon so hopefully I'll have a job that corresponds to my certifications.
The downside to this job is that it's kind of far for me to get to. I'm worried about punctuality, but if I treat it like an everyday activity, then it shouldn't be too challenging. If it does become a problem though I may just apply for another job nearby.

Employer wants the shirt back D:
The employer I worked for a week ago just texted me a while ago asking for the shirt to be delivered back to them. Say what? I've already washed the shirt about 5 times and I've cut the tag off and everything already and threw those parts out... but they want it back? This is so weird but I guess maybe they don't have shirts to give to their employees or something. I'm going to send it to them via COD (collect on delivery) so that I can be reimbursed. Shipping is like 10 bucks or more I think and bleh I would rather not send back the shirt but they never scheduled me for a shift on the last day so I wasn't able to return it in person. I wonder if the shirt I have was worn by someone else... maybe they just retag them. o_O
On another note, I had my interview yesterday. It went well and I feel like I can probably get the job. I just hope it won't be too intense or anything like that. I was happy with the wage that they told me, it was higher than expected. I'm more excited to be working though for a place that I really enjoy. :D The interviewer said she will call me within a week or so, since she is still interviewing a number of people for the position. There are probably multiple vacancies. In the meantime, I'll keep job hunting. Job hunting is somewhat fun.. it passes the time!

The job hunt continues
Had my job interview for the restaurant this morning. I did not get the job since training is on a day that I have my vacation planned. However, they said I could contact them after if I'm still interested. They are keeping my resume on file. So that's a relief :)
I'll just have to see how the interview next week goes. If the other job starts earlier than the restaurant position, then I will consider it. I hope that they will be able to accept me as I have a vacation soon.
I just want to be able to work before the school year starts again. I'm currently waiting for my fall schedule for classes, so until I get that, I'm not entirely sure if I'll be working lots, less, or not at all during the school year. I also may have to take some more classes so that I can graduate soon. Decisions, decisions.
Blah. Work in the morning so I probably should get to sleep now. I want to watch "At Home Dad" more but... maybe sleep is better.

Busy busy summer
So I've kick-started my summer already by being busy almost everyday. I managed to sneak my way out of some shifts to make room for volunteering and hanging out. I start soon. :)
Volunteering was really fun the other day. But I forgot so much of my Japanese that it wasn't even funny. However, I managed to catch up.. and I accidentally confused myself while trying to assist a student with counting. Sigh. Means I have to brush up in the next week, since I'll be volunteering again next week. Oh, and my other volunteering with the videos went well too. I just need to submit them and I'll be good until the fall semester starts. :)
Yesterday I decided to go to the restaurant that I have an interview scheduled. The food was good. However after going there I questioned myself if I wanted to still do the interview. I wasn't sure if I wanted to work there any more. o.o I'll go to the interview anyway and maybe they'll tell me some stuff that will convince me to work for the company. I also handed in a resume (it's been 6 months since I've last done that) in person to a store. Also got a call for an interview at a coffee place, that interview will be much later though. Same with the response from the other store.
Eating oatmeal right now to get ready for a long day. Oh and I got a great grade for my Spring course. I can relax now! Haha.

Summer is here!
My summer has finally arrived after three semesters of non-stop schooling. I am SO relieved! A lot of stuff happened in the past 6 weeks.
I managed to get a temporary job selling t-shirts at a booth for a convention. I only worked for two days and it was really great working in a high-volume/fast-paced environment for the first time. Every hour was spent on my feet but I enjoyed it because I felt like I was actually doing work. The only part I didn't like was how I had to refold shirts so many times and those periods where there were barely any customers. Next great thing was my feet weren't sore at all! Well, they did get a little sore when I was waiting for my pay cheque on the last day. haha. I managed to use that money for the next two weeks to hangout with my friends and do some retail therapy. :)
My spring course finished. I am just awaiting my final grade now to be entered into the system. My professor said he already entered them, but they have yet to show up. :( I just hope I have a good grade. That course was really important and costly so I am hoping for the best!
I managed to get an interview for a hostess position. The interview will be later, but I hope I can get it. I went out earlier this week to go dress shirt shopping for the occasion. Now I have a dress shirt that fits me well. :)
For the next month I will be working a temporary job for a few days, and at the same time I will also be volunteering as a teaching assistant once again. I also have another volunteering activity I have to do this week and that one is what is making my head spin right now. It involves trying to get people to be interviewed but people are shy. >< Hopefully I can get it done soon.
To be honest, I never really had a plan for this summer. I only planned to do job hunting/work, but after submitting tons of resumes and going to a few interviews, i realized that during the waiting period I will have to do something else. Volunteering is there for that purpose and also to give me a little more experience. :)
I am also planning to re-study Japanese since I'm starting to lose it. There's no one to talk to in Japanese where I go, and I think it's kind of awkward to talk in a conversation in Japanese when we're not actually in the class... this also means I should skype my Japanese friends and start talking to them more. I have, however, started watching more Japanese dramas so at least my listening skills are still there. :P
Anyway, I should sleep soon... don't feel so well.

Follow-ups
Spring classes have started... I'm going to be one busy student for a while. I have a 20 paged paper to write and an assignment as well as a group project to work on... it will be hectic, stressful, but it will be redeeming once it's all done ... and that will be one less course to take!
The photo job got back to me. I ended up giving the thank you letters a few days after the interview, and I was told that I would get a call later that week. That call never happened, so today before the week ended, I decided to do a follow-up call. They said the location I applied for was already full for employees, but they asked me if I would work at another location. I told them it was fine and they said they will call me back soon once they speak with the DM. So yay, I still have a chance!! Other than that, I also have another interview for a food job... I'm going to see how that goes once I get a call (I was told I would get a call the other day to setup training and such, but it didn't happen). I wonder if the food job will pay more than the photo job? We'll see. Kinda looking for experience right now.. and something that will work around my school schedule, since I also still need some days to research/do my assignments.
So far so good. The weekend is here... which means it's time to indulge in the sun, but also get started on some research. My first few assignments are due in a week! :S

Too much thinking, isolation, possibly alienation?
Whenever I'm in a particular crowd of friends... and with my SO, I get this awkward feeling of isolation. We had a skype conference and the dominate voices were doing some talking.. I sit back and listen.. I try to intervene at certain times but then it feels awkward and it doesn't feel like anyone is listening to me or cares.
I always get this weird feeling around people that I don't know or people I do know. I'll stand or sit there, look around, and be like 'why isn't anyone coming up to me to chat?' 'why do I always have to initiate the convo?' it makes me feel like no one WANTS to take the initiative to come talk to me... I feel awful and awkward.
Then when it's me, and two other friends who are having a great conversation... one of them leave, then it's just me and one friend.... all goes quiet. They don't attempt to start a conversation. Instead, i try to break the silence, but I realize it's always me who breaks the silence, and never them. Am I really that awkward to talk to? Do you really have nothing to talk about with me? The other week, it was so quiet between me and my friend on the way home... and everytime I tried to chat, she would answer and make it seem like she didn't really want to talk.. agh. maybe she was tired, i dont know.
I'm not saying the world has to revolve around me. I'm just saying I feel left out a lot of the time and feel like no one really wants to get up and talk to me.. I always find myself trying to shove my way into a conversation, only to be pushed out of it... or so it seems.
I can have a one to one with a good friend, but I can't do that with people I've only known for a year.. what is wrong with me? Maybe I've just lost my independence... I've lost the will to try and be optimistic and positive after getting all worked up for a relationship.
even online conversations get awkward too.. did I just lose my dazzle? :(
am I jealous? I think I am.. or rather, I'm letting myself be pushed down too far..

A breath of air
Finally, first year of film school is done! However, my spring course is coming soon. In the meantime, I have just been hanging out with friends, and looking for jobs everyday. It's hard work, and my poor wallet could really use a job anytime soon.
That other food job never got back to me. I guess they aren't hiring anymore :( Or they didn't like my resume. I applied for a photography sales position the other week. Went to an interview for it, now waiting on them to get back to me, since the District Manager left while I was still doing my job shadow. I've got a few thank you notes for them. Hopefully it's not too late to deliver them... I should probably call them on Friday if I don't get a response, since I think the DM said she would be there. Or was it today? Ah, I don't know.
I am actively still trying to find suitable jobs for the spring/summer. If all else fails, I will apply for a sales position at an engraving shop. That could be fun! :)
Asides from job hunting, I was able to spend some much needed time with my friends. :) It's been a few years since I last spent some time with some of my friends, so it was really nice to see them this week. Makes me realize there is a reason to be happy still, because I also have them in my life. :) I haven't been the most suitable person to engage socially with for the past few years, so this has also boosted my confidence that I can still have fun with others, laugh, and have good conversation. :) However, a lot of stuff we do requires the spending of money... so for a few days I will refrain from social activities, and slowly try to accumulate my dollars to make amends for the next social occasion.
With the lack of a upass this semester, I have to start buying bus ticket books. These cost quite a bit and the use of each ticket is pretty frequent. On average, I use two a day, and there's only 10 tickets in one book... so I only have 5 days with the tickets, and then it's off to the store to go purchase a new set. Luckily, we live in a world of credit, and we are able to get some money back if we submit our receipts. I have never submitted the receipts for these purchases for my taxes, but I definitely will for the next tax year.... so that I can buy more booklets. T_T
For the next few days I think I should work on tidying up my room, do a bit of studying for Japanese, and also do some work ahead of time for my Spring course. Oh, and, do my volunteering. Ah... at least I can relax here and there more often! :)

As the semester goes, I get lazier and lazier.
I haven't been able to find a job. Greeter job got back to me and told me they hired individuals who matched the job description/skills more. Meh. Food job also got back to me and told me they couldn't fit me with my schedule so I wasn't able to get a position, however they said they would keep my resume on hold if there is a position available. Ah, I tried.
I applied for the same food job at another location, maybe they will get back to me this week. I think I've kinda given up on the job search for now. Not too sure if I'll be able to fit working while attending a Spring course. I'll have more free time, but perhaps that free time would be better devoted to schoolwork. We'll see, I guess.
--Speaking of school, I've just been so lazy over the past few weeks, it's become a bad habit. The semester is almost finished, yet I find myself getting lazier and lazier. I wake up later, go to school later, and not care too much... plus there is my volunteering and it's hard to keep up when most of my time is spent on schoolwork. I do my assignments and try to fit everything I need to do within my schedule. At least I still can maintain a social life. I'm pretty stressed I guess. Exams are coming up, final assignments are due soon, and Spring course is around the corner.
I need to wake up earlier, eat breakfast, coordinate my outfit, and pack my school stuff in the mornings. No more of this just laying in bed for an hour and wasting valuable time... and not eating breakfast. D:
I also need to pack my lunch more often. I've been packing my lunch last week for two days, and it went pretty well! I make it the night before just in case I wake up later than expected (which did happen). Hopefully I can keep up with this routine.
I also need to re-study Japanese. Been slacking on it since the Fall, that I've forgotten a lot of my kanji and grammar points already. Not great when I've got friends coming here who speak Japanese. Need to be able to communicate with them in both Japanese and English. I'm trying to aim to start studying next month. :)

Interviews
So with that, I've had 5 interviews this year already... One of them I got an unpaid internship from, I didn't get the job for another, and I'm still waiting on three of the other ones.
I had two job interviews today. Inititally I was expecting only one - in person. I wake up this morning to realize that I will be late for school if I don't get up soon. While laying in bed, I check my email on my ipod. To my surprise, I get an e-mail from one of the jobs I applied for the previous nights. It was just an email stating the location of the position, and thanking me for my resume. I wanted another email, from an employer who I was supposed to be interviewed by on Sunday, but I couldn't go, because well, the commute would have been too long and we had a blizzard the night before (which I had no idea the snow would melt on Sunday...), but that e-mail didn't come... at least not in the morning.
I make my way to school, and realize I get a missed call. Turns out it's from one of the employers... however it's a long distance call, so I listen to the voicemail, hesitant to call back. I eventually call them back, but they were out of the office. I leave them an email, they call me again, but I was in class so I called them back when I had a break.
The interview was interesting, I didn't expect to have a phone interview on the spot. It was more of them going over my experience, and abilities/skills... I had to interupt them in the middle of it since I had to head back to class. I got sent some surveys to fill out for them. Hopefully it goes well. Not so sure if I really want that job now, even though it pays more. The position seems like it might be boring... but the location is nearby, and the hours are reasonable.
Then after classes, I was going to head home, but I decided to check my e-mail once more. Got an e-mail from the other employer I was waiting to hear from. Turns out they were able to do an interview today, so I went ahead and attended the interview. It went well, at least I thought it went well. The interviewer was very easy going and she was really nice. I feel like I want to work at this establishment more because it actually has more skills needed compared to the other job. This job is in the food industry so I'd definitely learn a lot of things about preparing food that would definitely help in the long run. The pay may not be as good as the other job, but the location is in a place I'm familiar with, and I love their products.
I'll have to see which one gets back to me first. If the food one gets back to me first, I'll take it. As long as there are hours available for me. If the other job gets back to me... well, I guess I'll take it, but only after I've asked some more questions about the detail of the position, what it's like, how challenging it could be, and how much fun/comfortable it is to do. Once those questions are answered, I'll make a decision. But yea, I think I want the food job now... lol. Although, it requires some heavy lifting, which I may not be able to do without assistance.
Other than those kind of interviews, I've got some interviews I need to do for my unpaid internship... which is filming interviews where I interview people. Ah, lots of work to do.. busy busy.
...excuse any typos/spelling errors/grammatical errors/errors in general in this post. It's almost 2AM. I'm so tired.

Jobs
So I recently applied for a bunch of jobs. One job got back to me asking for an interview... but I'm not so sure if I want that job now. The job is kinda far for me, and it's in the food industry... but I guess working there for a short time wouldn't be too bad if I do get hired.
Although if I do work there it means I'll pretty much be in the same place for everyday of the week, unless I get a holiday. :S Hm, I dunno.
I'm waiting for the other jobs to get back to me, but they probably won't get back until Monday or later this week. I really want a job that is in my field of expertise, but if I can't get that, then I'm hoping I can get this other job I applied for... which pays 'well' and is an easy job that only requires a lot of standing, talking, and walking.
I mean, it's been a whole school year and I only started looking for jobs in January... maybe I should start working after school is done. Although, it would be nice to be working now and have a little pocket money to start the Spring with.
It kind of sucks though because due to my heavy school schedule for next year, I might have to work less or even quit the job. So it'd be better to start working now, rather than later to get some experience under my belt and to show the employer what I can do for their company.
My interview was supposed to be later today, but I asked to reschedule it for Monday, since it will be more convenient for me, then.
Also, I have my unpaid internship as well.. I need to make time for that this week though... hopefully I can get my equipment soon to start filming.

Old habits
Lately I haven't been sleeping early, eating breakfast, waking up early (except for 8am classes), and being on time for a certain class. These are habits I had long ago... Lots of stuff has been going on lately the past week so I'm not exactly fit for my usual routines. I'm going to try to get back on track starting today... I need to wake up on time to eat breakfast and get to class since I have an assignment due. I also need to have lots of energy to study for a quiz I have today. Coffee is a no no for now.
I don't know where else to put this entry so I hope readers won't mind.

Solitude
It's a good thing I have blogpress on my iPod touch... There have been a lot of blogs I've been wanting to write lately but I don't find the time or I happen to forget. This won't happen as long as I have mi iPod with me during commutes. Although using this method does tempt me to type in 'txting' mode... for which I will try to refrain.
Anyway I wanted to talk about solitude.

Resolutions and stuff.
It's the new year and I made some resolutions the other day for this year. One of those resolutions was to cook more/bake more... and the first thing I cooked this year was Omurice. Omurice is fried rice (usually chicken, vegetables, and ketchup) stuffed inside or underneath a sheet of omelette. It is then covered/drizzled with ketchup or demiglace sauce but there are other toppings you can feel free to use. It is a really great dish that is from Japan, and when I went to Japan I had it three times there and loved it each time. My first time I can't really remember where I had it there or what it tasted like, but it was really good. My second time was at Denny's and it was huge and worth the 8 bucks I paid for it. My third time was at school in the school cafeteria.. not as awesome as the other two I had but it was still really good. I actually have a goal to be able to cook all kinds of Japanese food, because I know I won't be back there until after I graduate... so I want to bring those foods to here and share them with my family and friends.
The Omurice I made last night. Shrimp, bbq sauce, cucumber, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
Omelette, with mayo and bbq sauce on top. I didn't have any ketchup so bbq sauce was the next option. I may try using hot sauce next time on top!
A picture of Omurice that looks better.
The next resolution I want to accomplish is getting a job... I've applied for a few but I am kind of reluctant to apply in an area where a job can be easily obtained... by this I mean retail. I have worked in retail before and it isn't the best job out there. I was young when I had my first job and the pay was not very great but it was worth the amount of work I did (which was really nothing.. all I did was stand out front and watch the front and re-fold clothes.). I want to find a unique job that will give me some valuable experience. I've applied for some desk jobs and representative jobs so hopefully I can get one of them...
Should practice writing more...
in English AND Japanese.
So I didn't mention this yet, but I go to a technical college now... but I will be back in University soon. This means I haven't really had the opportunity to utilize my essay writing skills... lately all I've written were written tests or screenplays for school (I am a film major). I realize, once I go back to University classes I might get lost in the midst of essay writing... and just before graduation that cannot be a good thing. I've decided I'll at least write one entry a day in my blogs/journals so at least my writing is still there to look at after... and of course, so I can motivate myself to not procrastinate on homework anymore (I've become very good at avoiding procrastination lately... there isn't anything to really do so I just do it right away or within 2 - 3 days... okay maybe longer...sometimes.).
I should also practice my Japanese. I was a teaching assistant for two semesters (Summer and Fall) and now that I haven't TAed in a month (I think), I'm starting to forget my Japanese. I'm alright at speaking but writing has always been my weakest point. What's even worse is that I have forgotten almost all of the Kanji I learned over the Spring semester and the years before that... :( I really need to get off my lazy butt and flip open my textbooks. I'm also going to consider buying additional workbooks/textbooks so that one day I can become advanced and maybe fluent in Japanese (like my friend's dad who is a professor...hmm).
