Southern Alberta flooded. Please donate!

I never thought the city I grew up in would ever get flooded. Last Friday, we experienced some very high water levels in our rivers, and eventually it spread throughout surrounding communities.

About 75,000 people were evacuated from their homes. They evacuated to either the reception centers, or to their families/friends homes. Days later, some communities were able to return to their homes, however there is still a state of emergency as people self-assess their homes, and buildings.

There is a lot of clean-up that needs to be done. Donations are needed as well, not only in our city, but in our neighbouring towns as well.

I am so amazed at the community that we have here in our city. First responders, individuals willing to volunteer to help; it makes me proud to be a part of this city.

I am very fortunate enough that my family and I did not have to evacuate. In times of crisis, people do really pull through together. I hope we can get everything back into shape soon!

Graaaaduattedd!

Today I officially received my degree at my convocation of 2013 for my Film Studies degree. Pretty proud of myself, I would like to have the next few days off to celebrate, but I didn't ask for it in advance, so... work, work, work.

Now that I've officially graduated, there's so many things I need to do.

1) Study my Japanese more often - I am forgetting a lot of vocab and grammar points and it's not helping me when I attend my review classes... and can't recall much. I'm going to make an effort to at least study for half an hour a day. :) Weekdays... lol.

2) Get interviews - My contract for my job is almost done, so I need to start job hunting now. I'm expanding my horizon and going for jobs related to digital media, social media, video editing, and a bit of administration... I will put all of my skills forward and find something that I can use them all, and teach me new ones! Hopefully interviews at lunch time will be ok... I don't want to take too much time off otherwise I'll have to work some overtime, but we'll see.

3) Clean - My room is a mess. Needs to be cleaned pronto. I need to donate my old books, clean up my paper files, clean my closet... I need to find a day where I'm not lazy and can clean all day...

4) Get a new job - If I don't get full-time after my contract, I'll have to find a new job soon, but I think I will take a few weeks off if I can... need to relax :D

5) Fix my demo-reel. - This should really be number 2... but yeah, I really need to fix my demo reel to include a url that does exist.

I hope to get this all done this summer. :)

Work tomorrow, tons of work to do since I took the day off today...
