I'm back from my vacation. Lately I've just been catching up with some friends here and there. Also, I've been spending too much money. Really excited for my next pay cheques... need to pay off my bills and there are some items I want to get.
I got another job interview! The job interview is for an editing position, so that's really great for me. It was going to be tomorrow, but I had work so they scheduled it a week ish from now. I have lots of time to prepare... yesterday I tried to do a mock interview after having a nap, that didn't work out too well because I lost motivation to think of answers. Then again, it was 2am.
I'll just research the company this week and then prep for the interview later. I really want this job. The company sounds like a good place to work in too!
School is approaching as well, I've already purchased my textbooks. I was hoping to read them a bit before class starts, to get a head start/prepare for the days of reading I will be required to do... however, I haven't been reading them at all. Haha. I'll start perhaps tomorrow or whenever... :S
I haven't been gaming lately either... been watching Korean dramas. I do miss gaming though, but I'm too lazy to open up the Windows laptop. I feel comfy with my Macbook.

Omak and Bellingham trip!
We recently took a break from Kelowna and headed down to Omak and Bellingham for a couple days. The original plan was to go to Seattle and spend some time in Chinatown, but we didn't have enough time to go down to Seattle after a long day of driving and shopping at the outlet in Bellingham. It was still a fun trip but I was looking forward to buying some Japanese cosmetics for a cheaper price than in Canada, so I didn't have to purchase them online. Ah oh well.
We went to Vancouver first to pick up a friend who went to go shopping with us for the day. We went to an outlet mall and shopped at the Nike store, Lululemon and other places. We also had some mexican food at Lorenzo's earlier. I had this express burito entree and it was good... can't believe I finished it all though, guess I was pretty hungry! After the outlet mall we went to Wal-Mart and did some more shopping... mainly for grocceries and small items. I bought a Revlon blending brush and some Physician's Formula eyeliners... I originally wanted a brown shade like my old one that ran out recently but my bf wanted me to get the Smoky Eyes version, so I did. It has black, grey and silver eyeliners.. I've used grey before and it looks pretty good so I guess I have a new colour palette for the fall? XD
After Wal-Mart we went around to try to find a hotel. It was getting dark and it was 9pm already so every hotel we went to didn't have any vacant rooms. We found an Ecnolodge and stayed there. The room had a mini fridge, a microwave and even a coffee maker! The sink was outside of the washroom which is kind of odd... but that's only because I'm a germaphobe and like to wash my hands before I touch the handle after going to the bathroom. I couldn't really sleep since the room was so dry with the air conditioner that would turn on and off according to the room temperature. I tried to listen to music to drift off to sleep, but my iPod ran out of battery so I went online for a bit. Free Wi-Fi ftw.
I woke up at 7ish in the morning and my mom and I got ready first and the whole family went down to the lobby for some continental breakfast. :D There was a pancake machine where you pushed a button and it makes one pancake come out conveyer belt style onto your plate. My sister got lucky and received a massive pancake the size of her plate... when the normal pancakes produced were smaller than a CD. I had some toast with hard boiled eggs, a muffin, coffee, and orange juice.
We headed to the Bellis Fair Mall and I really enjoyed the variety of clothing they had at Macy's, Rue 21 and Forever 21... I bought 4 tops and my bf bought me this cute Hello Kitty dress from Macy's :D I also got him a pair of jeans from Rue 21 and 3 of my tops were from Forever 21. I really wanted to shop more at Forever 21 but we had to get going to go back to Kelowna. There was also an arcade there but at the time we got to the arcade I didn't have any American coins/cash with me so we didn't play any games... they were sooo cheap! It was only 25c - $1.00 per game. I did get some American cash after buying some food to go at Mongolian Grill, since they took Canadian cash but we had to go right after we got our food. Oh well. I'll just spend my money over here in Canada.
Stopped at Tim Horton's an hour-ish later and got some pastries and ice capps :D Too much coffee for today...
And that concludes my 2nd road trip during this vacation! I would like to go to Seattle sometime or Vancouver, I think they would be fun and cool to explore :)

Some things I really need to get off my chest...
So I was able to take the day off work and sleep. I actually woke up that morning with a gross wet cough.. called into work and sounded really hoarse, so I'm really glad I didn't go. My current condition right now is still coughing, but that's probably because I'm currently in a house with three dogs. XD The first day I got here to Kelowna I found I was breathing heavily and dry coughing a lot. I suppose that's normal since I'm used to only have one dog around me, but I was with my sister's and my brother's dogs as well. Since then, I've been okay and only coughing a few times here and there. Every morning I always have a coughing fit for a bit because my mouth and throat are extremely dry... I need to drink water every morning. I hope I get to be 100% soon. There's been a lot of stuff on my mind lately so I really need to cool off and get better.

Freelancing and I'm sick D:
I haven't updated this blog in so long. I've actually had no motivation to write anything whatsoever in the past. Now that I'm on my summer vacation, I have more time to write. I'm also going back to university in the Fall, so I need to keep up with my writing... so this means I'll be blogging more once again!
Lately I've been freelance producing, filming, and editing for some corporate videos. Networking gets you jobs! Since I need to devote a lot of time for this to work, I've booked off lots of time off my part-time job. I was alright with doing this because I saved up quite a bit over the last month, so I was able to sustain my spendings and equipment rentals with no problem.
I finished one video and actually won't be getting paid until the cheque processes... which could take a while. :( I can solve my financial woes by going to work again, however I got sick last week so I haven't been in my best shape. Also, making drinks for customers and being sick at the same time do not belong together. :( I've been trying to ask someone to cover my shift since it's a closing shift, but so far no one has taken it... I really shouldn't go. I wouldn't want to make people sick, so I'm going to call in tomorrow and see if it's alright if I can stay home.
Anyway, so the moral of this story is to always have your funds ready during freelancing... because payment may take a long time to arrange. Also, make sure payment is arranged way in advance before you finish the project... to avoid payment delays like this. T_T But yeah, in the future I definitely need to collect half of payment up front, or at least collect the rental equipment fee up front... because that's what racks up a bill and if I don't pay that in time interest payments take place. D:
I'm working on another video right now and I'm hoping it turns out alright.
I need to sleep now... work at 12:30pm but I plan to call in at 9am. Eeeep.
