It's the new year and I made some resolutions the other day for this year. One of those resolutions was to cook more/bake more... and the first thing I cooked this year was Omurice. Omurice is fried rice (usually chicken, vegetables, and ketchup) stuffed inside or underneath a sheet of omelette. It is then covered/drizzled with ketchup or demiglace sauce but there are other toppings you can feel free to use. It is a really great dish that is from Japan, and when I went to Japan I had it three times there and loved it each time. My first time I can't really remember where I had it there or what it tasted like, but it was really good. My second time was at Denny's and it was huge and worth the 8 bucks I paid for it. My third time was at school in the school cafeteria.. not as awesome as the other two I had but it was still really good. I actually have a goal to be able to cook all kinds of Japanese food, because I know I won't be back there until after I graduate... so I want to bring those foods to here and share them with my family and friends.

The Omurice I made last night. Shrimp, bbq sauce, cucumber, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
Omelette, with mayo and bbq sauce on top. I didn't have any ketchup so bbq sauce was the next option. I may try using hot sauce next time on top!
A picture of Omurice that looks better.
The next resolution I want to accomplish is getting a job... I've applied for a few but I am kind of reluctant to apply in an area where a job can be easily obtained... by this I mean retail. I have worked in retail before and it isn't the best job out there. I was young when I had my first job and the pay was not very great but it was worth the amount of work I did (which was really nothing.. all I did was stand out front and watch the front and re-fold clothes.). I want to find a unique job that will give me some valuable experience. I've applied for some desk jobs and representative jobs so hopefully I can get one of them...
